Not sure why you wouldn't be able to use the mail app to the email account you are forwarding your domain email to. I assume you would be using an email client that you have with your other email accounts.
Does the app know it is a forwarded email, is that the issue? .
Gmail works well for WA domain email forwards. ~Jude
