Life Can Be a Soap Opera

I have said for many years our lives are like one big soap opera. We always have things happening and sometimes multiple things are going on that affect our lives. Just this week alone was tough. It started out first thing Monday morning we had conflicting appointments that I had failed to recognize. I had scheduled one of our vehicles to go to the garage and then I turned around and scheduled our dog's surgery for Monday. Our dog had a large tumor on one of his back legs and we had to have the leg amputated so I had to be the one to take him to the vet on Monday morning by myself. I'm a very emotional person so it was very hard for me to leave him knowing that when I picked him up that evening he was going to be missing a leg. We both made it to work but neither of us could focus because we were thinking about the dog. My hubby did get to go with me that evening to pick up the dog and that was helpful because I couldn't lift the dog to put him in the car. He weighs 120 pounds. We got him home and to bed. He is doing pretty well. He's actually up walking.

On Tuesday our son wrecked our truck. A girl wasn't paying attention and turned out the center lane of one our busy streets here in Anchorage into the left lane right in front of him. He couldn't avoid hitting her. He called to tell me he had been in an accident and me heart fell to me stomach. I asked if he was okay and he said he was but that the truck wasn't. It's probably not totaled but at any rate I told me son that I was just glad he and his friend were okay and the girl that he hit. Vehicles can be replaced or repaired but people can't be. It has been a rough week for him. It has slowed his job hunt down and he has been sore.

We had a very busy week at work putting out fires for clients and then me husband had to fly out of town to take care of a client. So every day this week presented new obstacles or problems and we dealt with them all as they came and thankfully went. Now we are waiting for the insurance companies to do their job and get our truck fixed.

And now as I go back and read this I think to myself "this week really wasn't that bad considering." We've had way worse in the past. I have to laugh when I think about some of the things that have happened to us in the past and we managed to get through it all - together! It's never been easy but we did it. I must sit down sometime and share some our stories. They are quite funny now looking back on them but it wasn't funny at the time we were going through it I can assure you.

Oh my...hope you have a better time this week!
All the best to you,
KyleAnn

Things seem worst when you are in the middle of them. Glad you got it all sorted.

I hope next week is quieter for you, Pamela, Alan

If they wrote a soap opera script like that, critics would say it was too dramatic and didn’t represent real life. I’m sorry to hear about the ordeals of your dog and your son. I hope they are both recovering well.

The difficult moments of life can make us stronger as a family or as a couple. The important thing is to fight for the best, and you do it very well.

Have a great day!
Ingrid

Thank!for sharing and this shows us that everyone has a guiding Angel around them at all time to help them out in times of need.
