Back Online - No Bears
Hi everyone! I'm so happy to report I'm back up and running. This being without internet for over a week was ridiculous. We were told by one tech that bears probably tore up our lines. Another tech came a couple of days later and didn't even want to attempt to look at what the problem was because he had heard there may be bears in the woods where the main connection was. I called and fussed at one of the managers of support and let him know that we didn't appreciate having to wait so long to get our internet repaired. The manager sent someone out that day who brought bear spray with him just in case. Well it turns out that our line was emitting some kind of loud buzzing noise and a cable lineman came and put some kind of clamp on the cable which turned off our internet and our neighbors. The tech who came and actually repaired our internet found when invesigating that the cable had been turned off and the original lineman was supposed to have called it in for repairs. He didn't. They finally got it repaired and got us back up and running. That was the most ridiculous reason for being without internet that I have ever heard of. So it turned out to be a human problem and not a bear problem. Go figure!! I'm just so happy to have internet again.

Thank goodness that's fixed. That's why I have both a smart phone and a PC. I had to teach myself to use the mobile phone just in case the OC broke down. Jim
