Amazon Flop

When I started my website I was so excited about getting started with affiliate marketing. I got my website started and I was following the training but really missed the part where I should wait to get some traffic to my website before signing up as an Amazon Affiliate. Lesson learned. My traffic is growing slowly but in six months I've made no sales (well except for family members who were trying to help, but they didn't count). I've gotten the cut-off warnings from Amazon and I'm down to my last three weeks or so without qualified sales. I was really feeling deflated and feeling bad at first but then I started researching more and more affiliate programs. There are literally thousands and thousands out there. I started feeling better about being an Amazon flop and better about all the other opportunities out there. I guess if Amazon doesn't need me then I'll focus on the thousands of other affiliates programs out there that will gladly keep me on. The only thing that really bothers me now is having to replace all my Amazon links with something else. This will be time-consuming. Maybe one day I'll circle back around to Amazon if I need them but for now I'll just accept that I was an Amazon Flop and move forward to other things! I have definitaly learned a few lessons here but I'm in it for the long haul!!

You can always rejoin Amazon later, though you will have to replace all your links.

Perhaps you need to use more than one affiliate company at once. I have about five of them that I use. It's kinda like not putting all your eggs in one basket. Also, many other companies with affiliate programs will pay a much higher commission than Amazon. So shop around. Use the new "research" tab on our platform. Find some other companies that you can link to. You will benefit.

I wouldn't worry about it. Same happened to me as it's happened to a lot of folks here. You can always reapply if you like.

Thanks, Mick.

Another 180 days takes you through the holiday season. Give it another try!

Oh, that is so true. My wheels are already cranking.

I agree with Mike. Jim

I don't know if this will help, but I created a training that showed how I got my three qualified sales to Amazon.

Thanks, that was helpful.

Hopefully, you can keep it open. Reapplying is easy, but if you have to change your links because your ID changes, that sucks. It's not a HUGE issue, but it's annoying.

I'm sorry you didn't realize it was too soon to open an affiliate account with Amazon. Why didn't you ask me,? I'd have told you for sure! I've been here since the 8th of Feb and I am just now getting to the affiliate links part of the training. I know, I'm slow as cold tar in winter. Experience, however, told me I wasn't ready. There was so much to learn and besides I didn't have any traffic. Without traffic you have nothing!!!
I'm glad to see you rebounding nicely tho. Make lemonais out of lemons. Way to go!
Best wishes
Linda

Oh yes, I guess I should have. Ha ha

Anyway, I should add that I had purchased a website too that already had Amazon Affiliate program links so I jumped into that.

Oh well, that takes you off the hot seat! lol haha

There is not much wrong with the WA training BUT I think that the push to add Amazon Affiliate early on is definitely wrong.
I am sure it works that early for some people but it seems to me it should be much later on in the training...….

Don't worry too much as it has happened to most on here.

Mike

Thank you.

hey socialbug do not feel too bad about Amazon...they give you 180 days to make 3 sales...same thing happened to me but guess what?you can reapply and do it over and over ..dont delete your links ...With the help from WA i believe i can make 3 sales you can too.YES there are 1000's of Affiliate Programs out there ...go for it...to your success...

Thanks for the encouragement.

If Amazon cuts you off. Just reapply. That's what I had to do. The second time around I finally made some sales. Then add another affiliate program to the mix. That will give you more sources for income...
Ray

When you reapply you just do it under the same name and everything? Do they really just say "okay here's a second chance?"

“I believe” that they will in fact give you ‘another chance’ .. But, when you do the sign-up for the next go-round, your affiliate ID will change, so you will have to go back and change all the ones you already have posted.

..... I could be wrong .. heh! .. (Will find out for sure pretty soon, as My 180 days are ending pretty soon too)

Regards

Joe

Good luck Joe. Keep us all posted.

You use your same information, they will give you a new associate name, and yes they will give you a second chance and from what I have heard more chances to succeed. It seems silly and I wonder why they don't just make it one year, but maybe they are testing you to seek if you keep trying, then they feel you are serious... I don't understand it but that's ok there is a lot I don't understand.
Ray

That is one thing I did after I reapplied; change the associate link, fortunately, mine was a newer site. It wasn't that hard though.
Ray

I have been worried about this too. I hope you get your sales in time, if not it might lead you to some new amazing affiliate programs ; ) good luck

Thank you, Sara. I'll cross my fingers for you too!

Sometimes that is all we can do 🤞
