Hello lovely WA community,
What do you think of these blog promotion sites?
1. Flipboard
2. Medium
3. Getpocket
Are they as good as those in FB groups, Instagram, Pinterest etc?
I like to further explore to have more readers discover my blog.
Thank you for answering,
Joe

Hi Joe,
There are always many platforms which look promising for promoting your work or attracting new clients but if you want to sell from your website find out where your clients are coming from then build your followers on those platforms.
The easiest way to attract visitors to your blogs is to become known at the expert in the field. It takes time, there are no shortcuts just be patient and build your brand and traffic will come automatically and it will be the right type of traffic for you and your business.

HI Joe,
I haven't looked into adding any blog content to those websites. However I am a user of Medium and Getpocket.
From what Philmedia says below it sounds as though for Medium that you don't get to link to your website.
Do you get backlinks or direct link to your website from using GetPocket?
I would only consider any that you can get links to your website, that is what brings you traffic. If your content stays on Medium or Getpocket then all you are doing it putting your time and effort into another 3rd party website.
I hear very good things about Quora and Reddit to bring traffic to your website. So I suggest having a look at spending time in there to bring traffic to your website.
It will be a case of spending your time in the most effective ways to bring the most traffic to your website.
I do like your other suggestions:
1. FB groups, Instagram, Pinterest
2. Then perhaps trial Quora and Reddit
3. Then your 3 ideas but only if you can get links to your website.
You will be able to monitor traffic sources using Google analytics.
I hope this helps, John

Medium is great, but you still have to produce lots of content to be paid. So it depends where you want to spend your time. You could make a full time living out of medium in theory, but you don't own the site.
Plus, you only earn from members reading.
Could we make more of the WA blog here as it ranks well, but people use it as an internal communications notice board?
And I get that. But!
Interesting discussion.
