So it looks like Google plus is being phased out, which I have to say I am surprised about!

So what do we use now in place of Google+? I personally find Twitter very quick and easy to use. Do you think Google will introduce something new?

Thank you for reading.

Good post, Roy, great question and there are some good answers in this thread, including what Kyle says which is very logical.

My own take on this is, I am surprised that G+ is going, I know it wasn't used very much, but when time was taken to understand the platform, it is very useful to have.

As for replacing it with something new, then like you, I am very minded to use Twitter. There are lots of different reasons for this, but a MAJOR one for me is that it is actually a real time network, which can bring success when focused upon

Agreeing with Kyle, its not about replacing it with something else, its about focusing on your business, that is spot on, OUR only Focus on a DAILY basis, should be about building our OWN list

Build that and financial freedom, according your own definition of that will come, thats my intention

Twitter is also, as you say easy to use, I like that, it can be automated, but i don't do that too much.

It is also a micro blogging site, which for me is another good draw and networking there is fairly straight forward.

Longwinded, but wanted to answer your question fully

Hi Roy. It probably doesn't matter if they introduce something new, I think they will struggle to get members. Pinterest and Instagram seem to be the best business builders. Jim

A new social media is starting up called Webtalk and it will pay unlike any other social media and is free. A link is at the bottom of my profile page.
Learn from WA and earn from social media as well.
The other social media are too greedy to share their income.

Now granted webtalk may pay, however, its my firm belief that which ever social media platform we use, they will all pay us as long as we build and drive traffic to our list, which should be attached to our blog

But I do see where your coming from

Yes, I learned that recently as well and not sure as to why other than I didn't find the real purpose for it, to be honest anyway.

I was thinking of the same thing... But honestly I don't get much engagement on G+

Oh good for you! I get +1's but not actual "engagement"

As Mathew mentioned below, divert your energy to other social platforms. You don't need to replace G+ with something else, it like many other Google products is being sunset. Not a huge surprise, considering usage on this network was very low.

So don't aim to replace it with something else, rather just move this energy back into your business.

Hi Kyle,
I decided to direct this question to you.
Is it possible for you to make a thread where we can share our social media links? like "share you Google account thread?"

Since G+ is no longer much of use--
I was just thinking it will helpful for us if there's a separate thread.
Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to reply Kyle, I do appreciate it. I hear what you are saying, sometimes I think we put too much effort into social media rather than focusing on our website content.

Enjoy your weekend.

Roy,
Seriously thanks for the information, have heard this a few times
but thought it was just some hype. To bad hopefully we get something to replace them. :(

Google + was used by Google to help the search engine crawl our site (in simplistic terms). They seem to have a more sophisticated system now that can crawl content. So I am not sure if they will choose another site for this purpose.

Maybe we should use all of the SM sites to get our info out to the world.

What do you think?

I'm not sure if this is a relevant answer, but Google has blogger. Now I was using Blogger before I found WA and when you publish from Blogger, it goes straight into the SE results

So, it may be an idea to use Blogger, as another blog, just a thought, thinking about the search engines results and we have Jaaaxy to help us with that : )
