Problem is located in backup mechanics. Before backup plugin can send you files to dropbox or other place it needs to:

1. write all files in one temporary place (needs alot of space),
2. compress them (need some more space)
3. when compression is successful it can send it to your preferred storage location (dropbox or other)
4. delete all temporary files and compressed files (free all working space)

WA has very small space allocated for your site.
i think that WA gives about ~100 MB of space for your site(which is pretty small amount)
You can check how much size is your site by going to
1. backupWP settings/General/ switching ON "folder size"
2. then create new job for your backup or edit old one and go to tab called "Files"
3. add up all big numbers together (those with MB near name)
if they are around 50+MB then you need to do your backup in parts
4. create half of your backup in part one and second half in part two.
5. run those jobs one after another (not together )
6. If your uploads folder is BIG it can be tricky because pictures cannot be compressed - you might need to exclude them from backup at all (archive them manually on local computer through FTP)

Also i would suggest logging in manually and checking if there were some left-overs from previous failed backups - you can copy them locally then delete from FTP and try running backups again.
If backup were OK then delete not needed files from your local drive.

Its like making a cake, just follow the steps don't memorize them (yet, hehe) . It's like going on a walk, one step at a time don't look at the whole map - you will get overwhelmed:)

I bet you're great at writing content which is total anguish for me - how tough could that be, right ? - well way harder than making a cake (for me :) )

All above just Jokes! (don't take it personally)

It is quite important to check your site with FTP because you may experience problems with uploading images when there is not enough free space.

Where are you backing up to? Have you checked how much space if left on the hard drive of that device?

Hi again, I am backing up using dropbox, my site is hosted with WA

Justine, I would be checking how much space you have in your dropbox, I know with a free account it is limited.
I would suggest looking at what you already have in your Dropbox, clearing it and then seeing if you can run your backup.

Maybe just try backing up to your computer hard drive, and then move it later to Dropbox if that is where you want it. Maybe there is a security setting preventing it writing to Dropbox. So try your C: drive or whatever your main PC hard drive is.

I just deleted some photos off dropbox that I did't realize were there so now just two errors remaining out of 3, I will try what you suggesting :)

Are you getting the same errors still? Was there a different error when you tried backing up to your computer or the same error?

Sorry Justin, I'm a little stumped on this one.
have you tried setting BackWPup to a different setting, sending to email? Maybe try changing the backup compression file to be Tar GZip and see how it performs.
Have you ever been able to get a backup since installing BackWPup?

Hi Justine, where is your site being hosted? With WA or with another host provider? What backup are you using?
