Hi guys. Can I please ask the following, should I mention on the page with affiliated links that there are links on that page or is the Affiliate Disclamer sufficient and cover the responsibility you have as a site owner? Thank you for your help, Jude

To be FTC compliant, you must have a disclosure which appears prior to the first affiliate link on each page containing an affiliate link. It can't be in the footer. It can't be in the sidebar. It can't be on another page. It must be clear and conspicuous. Most people will put it at the top of their post.

Hi Jude.
I have a page on my site which is specifically for recommended products which all have affiliate links and i have a clear affiliate disclosure at the top of the page.
On other pages where I mention affiliate products I just have a clickable link available to view the privacy policy including affiliate disclosure.

Cheers
Dave

This would also depend on what you are promoting as well.

If you are promoting health-related content you would need a separate heath disclaimer also if you are an Amazon affiliate you need to follow their rules with affiliate disclaimer as they are very fuzzy

I don't do health or Amazon at this stage. But as Diane mention they have to see it before they see my links so I suppose I have to put a note at the beginning of my article. I reckon it just doesn't look great to start my article with this note?

I created a menu at the top of my websites called site info with all the necessary disclaimers there along with the privacy policy etc also they are automatically at the footer as well.

And one on the sidebar just for Amazon that way Amazon is plain to see which pleases them and those who wish to read any other disclaimers can just click site info if they wish to read.

Hope that helps

Hi - your Affiliate Disclosure needs to be clearly visible, so that potential customers see it before they see your affiliate links.

Hi Diane, ok thank you. I have it next to my privacy policy on the bottom footer. So I presume this is not sufficient then. I probably have to put a additional note on the beginning of my article I suppose? Thank you for your reply
