Hello! Later this week I'll be going to a family reunion. I'm excited to tell them all about my website and my experiences with WA. I know our main priority is to help and educate the public on our niche with quality content and sales come second. I do plan on encouraging them to view my website, gain as much knowledge as they can, and I'll gladly answer any questions they have about my niche.

However, I know many of them like to buy products from Amazon. I know we can't buy products ourselves through our affiliate links or have family members in the same household with the same address as us do it either. My question is more geared toward family members that don't live with me. None of my family members live with me and most of them live a few states away at another address.

My question is if they live at a different address than me, can they use my site to get to Amazon to buy things and I'll get credit for it? Or do they have to live at a different address and also have a different last name than me? I'm guessing there's a cut off point somewhere.

For example, if I have a 2nd cousin that lives at a different address than me and has a different last name than me, I wouldn't think Amazon would know that person is related to me. I checked the operating agreement in my Amazon Associates account. It didn't say anything about family members living at different addresses or family members with different last names.

I'm just trying to find out the parameters, this way I'll know which family members to tell it's ok to use my site to get to Amazon to buy things and which ones can't. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and have a great day!

Jon

Hey Jon, they all can use your website and buy products through your affiliate link. Name doesn't matter but they need to have amazon account. It's easy. E mail address and a password. They can use your website and read a post which has amazon link. That's it.Address doesn't matter. They don't have to live in the neighborhood.Your website is global. And then you will get credit for it.

Yes, a different address is what is needed to buy with amazon.
It works everytime.

As far as I know, it would only pertain to family members at the same address that Amazon has on file for you as an affiliate. If it's a different last name and/or address, you should be good to go!
