Hi Guys,
Just one more question for today, and probably a silly one.
You know how if someone clicks your amazon affiliate link and then buys ANYTHING in the next 24 hours (or however long), even if it's unrelated to your original link, you get the commission, is this the same for Ebay?

I know Ebay affiliate links only last 24 hours but if someone goes to another product do I still get that commission?

thanks
marketa :)

I haven't got into that part of it yet, but I'm looking into it. I'd like to know what you find out, because as a seller with a store, I'm not even sure how that works. I've been looking but can't seem to easily located the terms and conditions. Then you might have to take into account that ebay has different country sites, much like Amazon. It's definitely worth exploring, Marketa!

It's such a pain, Jeff.
Amazon is quite simple but they don't have the things I want to promote at prices I can justfy recommending. I think Amazon is a lot bigger in America than it is here in Australia.
Anway, I'll write a blog once I know the answer to this; I've emailed Ebay support and should get an answer within 24 hours

Hope you're well; I've been busy with videos so not reading many blogs or questions lately :)

Thanks for answering a question I was curious about! If someone clicks on your affiliate link to Amazon and buys something different than what the link was specifying, you still get paid commission.

Yes this is true but I'm not sure for ebay.
In Australia, Amazon isn't as big as it is in America. Postage is often high and the actual price of items is pretty dear. For example, strings I can buy on Ebay for $67 are over $100 on Amazon. I don't understand the price differences; perhaps the items on Amazon are coming from America

Anyway, I'll post a bog once I get the answer to this question so that everyone can know

Hey Marketa,

It is advisable to you to seek out eBay's support staff and ask them this question.

Making a habit to go to the business's support staff will help you prevent major mistakes.

Hope you find this helpful.

Hi Trish,
As always, that's really helpful advice you've given. I've contacted EPN customer support and I'll post a blog when I receive the answer so everyone can know this.
Thanks and have a great week!

Hey Marketa,

An EXCELLENT idea... but why now write a tutorial instead of a blog. That way, you could get you paid for your work: Just a thought...

Great question. eBay is different from others because there is auction, therefore the bidding process can go over the 24 hour period so I am not sure if the 24 hour is a hard and fast rule. Works for purchases not auctions.

Looking forward to the answer as well.

Hi Stanley and thanks for taking an interest in my question.
Amazon is actually far more preferable but in Australia, Amazon is quite expensive and usually charges high postage for the items.
Ebay commission isn't very good but they have items I actually want to recommend. I'm steering clear of auction items because someone could bid on the auction following my recommendation but then the auction ends outside the 24 hour period.
Anyway...
It's a tricky one!

Yes, it is. Was wondering if there is some way to handle auctions.

That's from their website:

A qualifying transaction occurs when an end user:

Makes a purchase within 24 hours after clicking your affiliate link for a “Buy It Now” item
Places a bid on an auction within 24 hours after clicking your affiliate link and then wins that auction within 10 days

I couldn't find anything about your first question but I'd imagine that you will get paid for any items that person bought after clicking on your link. I'll send you a message with a link to their loong network agreement so you can read it properly.
