My feelings about winter, especially january

In northern Utah where I live in the Northern Hemisphere, winters can be very cold. At the present time we are having an arctic blast with temperatures in the teens and twenties (F) mark. In addition to the cold temperatures, we also frequently have an inversion because we are in a valley. In other words, we have smog! The cold air gets trapped by the warmer air up above. The only way to scour out the valley is with more snow or winds. I realize that some of you in colder parts of the world probably think I am a sissy for even mentioning this information but I want to make a point.

Winter sends me inside into partial hibernation! Ever since I injured my foot and now have hardware in it I am very careful. Usually I love being outside doing things but in the winter I only go out when I have to, such going to the gym to exercise early in the morning or to run an occasional errand. I used to enjoy snowshoeing in the mountains or foothills above the smog line but my buddy (grandson) has gone off to college!

The point I wish to make is this --- I have learned good time management during these winter days and I have accomplished much relative to WA and my business. Ben Franklin once said:"Don't squander or waste time, for time is what life is made of." Another wise person has said: "time is money." I am always using self talk to encourage myself to make good use of my time and learn to become more productive.

I plan to get a lot accomplished during the months of January and February. I have set a goal of March to have my website completed, launched, running and producing.

I want to finally arrive at the intersection of OPPORTUNITY and ACCOMPLISHMENT and start enjoying SUCCESS!

You are a great writer Sminman! Enjoying the blogs :)

Thanks for sharing.

I don't enjoy the winter months either. Find myself staying in as much as possible. Perfect time to stay in and work on our sites.

Wish you the best,
Mickey

Hi Michael,
I'm not a fan of the cold because I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis. My joints do not like the cold! I live in Georgia and we're not that cold right now, but I don't think I can handle living where you do!! I do think that snow is very pretty though:)

The cold winter months can be the time to create online and make huge gains content wise.

Best wishes as that intersection rapidly arrives, Michael.

Alex.

I understand. It’s very cold in Alaska too. If I didn’t have a full-time job outside my home I probably would be hibernating too. I do not like the cold. Good way to maximize your time.

Oh Michael, I share in your disdain regarding all things cold!!!

When I retired, I up and moved my family from South Dakota to the sunny beaches of Florida before my first check arrived! I have quite a bit of titanium in this body, and running real close to the bionic woman LOL Every time I think of cold winter days, my mind flashes to the little boy who put his tongue on the metal post on a dare! Oh my... OUCH!!

Kudos to you for setting goals and stickng with it! Time is the master manipulator. Too much of it on my hands and I waste precious minutes moving about aimlessly and have nothing accomplished.

Too little time and I extend my mind and body into the wee hours of morning and the cycle begins again! LOL

My very best to you in 2019. I love your intended goals and think I'll follow your lead!

Thank you!!

I think that is a good idea! I would certainly do the same thing if I were you. You sound like the kind of guy that knows how to "take lemons and make lemonade". Good luck to you and stay warm!

hi Michael! ... good to hear from you and brrr-rr!

everyone needs sunshine -- hope the sun shines upon you in radiance of warmth and good fortune!

thanks kindly for sharing today & posting ---

all the best for a wonderful, successful 2019! ... cheerio ... ⭐️🎈

You are going in the right direction, it appears. I don't much care for the coldest months either, and like you, spend a lot of time inside. THIS year I am going to CA for February (currently in Alaska.)
