I tried to retire, but i got bored!

Full retirement has never agreed with me! I tried it about six years ago when I had my foot rebuilt from a fallen arch. In fact, I had to have the surgery done twice because a screw broke. I felt as if I was sentenced to a cast then to a boot, from a kneeling scooter to crutches to a cane.

After my healing process I tried a couple of "opportunities" that for me were completely "bogus".

Then out of the blue, I discovered WA! It spoke to me! In fact, it resonated with me so profoundly that I recognized the potential to make one of my dreams come true. As I was working in educational publishing selling books to schools and libraries as an independent rep, I had always wanted a website. With WA, I am slowly building one and learning the process of affiliate marketing which is very fascinating. With progress, I become more and more excited!

The words to a song of a few years ago keep going through my mind: "You gotta have hope! Mustn't sit around and mope!" We saw our tax man the other day and he asked what I did all day, I told him I was building a website for marketing purposes. He wished me well and encouraged me to reinstate my Subchapter S corporation for business write off opportunities. I did that today! I am serious about being successful!

Referring back to the words of the song, WA has given me "Hope", I am pleased with what I am learning and the progress of my website, I just have a few more functions to master.

I am making progress and I am excited! I have been working hard and I am coming out of retirement with something very exciting to do! I like the words of Jim Rohn: "Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better with change." In other words, WE are (or can be) in control!

Best wishes for success! We all deserve it!

Great story Michael, I wish you continued success with this journey!

Great thoughts Michael. Keeping the grey matter active is so necessary in retirement (I am on my fifth retirement and still keeping very busy). Hope you are successful going forward, you deserve it.

Sounds great Michael! I can feel your excitement and enthusiasm 😊 Best wishes for success!

Excellent Michael, but then when we do something we love, its not classed as work

Retirement is not something I can embrace well either.
After over 25+ years of Massage, I am considering that I have to leave the physical aspect of it, but to actually retire?? Nope.
Here's to Non Retirement!!

Yes!

Congratulations, and wishing you the best on your come back.lol
My children always tell me, Mom, when are you going to retire? I say NEVER. I am the type of person who has to be working all the time. I could not imagine being at home, even traveling all the time. I mean, off and on, here and there, possibly, but I have always liked to work since I was 13. Once I got the feel for what is was like to make money, that was it. I have always had some sort of business, even when I was in Corp. America. For the last 30 yrs, I have been self-employed in some sort of business, and love it. I think it is because I love to make the money I WANT TO MAKE, and ON MY TERMS.

I am looking forward to reading about your journey!
Much success, and keep in touch. Can't wait to see where you go this year.

This is so inspiring!
Personally, I'm still too young to even think about retiring.
But when the time comes, I hope to have an attitude just like yours.
You go, girl!

Hi Michael,
What a refreshing read!
A wonderful attitude, just the way I think. As a 76 years young retired teacher, who took early retirement in 1992, I just could not sit doing nothing. Since retiring,I have occupied myself by, using my research skills in helping companies do their market research, spent 4 years as our local Yodel parcel delivery representative and the last 5 years teaching students in care, one to one, ages 5 to 18 years of age.
It reminds me of a true story. My wife and I have lived in our house in Leeds, UK since marrying in 1968 and some years ago we used to talk over the garden fence to our elderly couple neighbours. The wife told us one day that she did not know what her husband would do when he retired, as he lived for his job and did not have any interests. Sure even, unfortunately, 6 months after he retired , he died.
It just shows you that life is too short, one should live a day at a time, make sure you have interests, hobbies and a fruitful future to look forward to.
I am proud of your aims, your values and look forward to your continued success with your website.
Leslie

I am setting up a site all about this subject directed toward retires, great to hear your input.
