Have you ever tried to replace a previously uploaded image or media file in Wordpress?

Very likely ... It happens all the time ... There are many different reasons and scenarios ... You found a better image ... You have a newly installed a theme which comes with different image sizes ... You just updated your video tutorial ... The promoted product has been re-branded ... And so on ...

And if you did, you probably had to ...

  • upload the new image or media file
  • find a different, but equally descriptive keyword-rich file name
  • edit your content in order to replace the old image or media file

Now wouldn’t it be nice if you could do all of this with just few clicks?

Obviously, you can ... and I've decided to create this short tutorial where I will show you how to easily replace previously uploaded images and media files in Wordpress.

Thank YOU!

Don't mention it, Zed! 👌👍😉

I have long way to go before i can adapt this in my website.... i even don't have one yet. Well anyways, what i've learned here will surely be used in my future websites. Good job Smartketeer!

Thanks for stopping by Nuela!

My site is still young but I am sure in a months time I will need this plugin to sort me out. I hope it will work for me.

Thanks for the time Edgar!

hi Zed, hey lookie here, finally a training I can make use of immediately, given that I had just uploaded a widescreen webcam video to my website, after having google tell me I need to set my video to 16:9.

Ergo my first video upload to my site needs to be updated and replaced... cheers Marc

It's too bad, I liked that video, maybe there is a way to convert widescreen to standard rather than record it all over again!

Marc

I don't get it Marc ... What's the connection between Google and the resolution of your own videos?

16:9 or 4:3 or .... it's your choice ... after all is your site and your video ...

Did i say Google? I meant YouTube. If you load a widescreen video up to YouTube studio, you get a warning, during the upload. They warn you that best resolution on their platform is at 16:9. It will still let you run the video, but the resolution is slightly blurry as a result. That's what they warn will happen.

However, as a noob I may be missing something and there may be a way to correct for this problem, or convert my video over.

I'll probably do it over tho anyway, I realized that occasionally I make an unpleasant lip-smack noise recorded to microphone proximity and what I've learned is due to talking with a dry mouth.

It's always a good idea to grab a beer before you start talking :)

There are many tools that will allow you to convert your videos ... I'm using Movavi Video Editor

haha, yeah, you better do that training video for that beer tip!

thanks for the tip, I'll check out Movavi.

ever so helpful to everyone! ... thanks kindly for sharing ... :)
