Traditional print media - newspapers, magazines, etc - have been using the well-known multi-column layout since the very early days of printing ...

The goal and the idea itself is very simple: to make it easier for readers to read a smaller text while using the available space economically.

And it works!

Hence the logical question: why are we so obsessed with single column layouts when it comes to online publications?

Well, I don't know the answer, but the fact remains: single column layouts are more commonly used on the web ... Which is wrong ...

Why?

Because, a multi-column grid can be efficiently used to create a more engaging layout.

Also, columns are very useful for highlighting content and making it easier to scan and read ...

This is why I've decided to create some tutorials to show you how easy is to add multi-column content in your Wordpress posts and pages ... Without writing any HTML code ...

In the first - recently published - tutorial I showed you how to create multi-column content using the good old Classic Editor. In case that you haven't seen it, here it is again:

How to create multi-column content using the Classic Editor (no HTML required)

In this tutorial I will show you how to achieve the same goal using the default Gutenberg editor ...

Hi there Zed
I just popped over to your profile to see where you've been, haven't seen you for ages :-)
And then I see this training - after looking at an article on a site last night which was gorgeous because it included columns! Speak about serendipity!
Thank you for the training, glad to see you are still around sharing your knowledge with us all.
Blessings always
Louise

Once again, thanks for the time and the feedback Louise!

Thanks and I agree with your assessment that multi-columns are much more eye-catching; there are some things traditional media still teaches us. Marc

Thanks Marc!
