It's a well-known fact: the site speed is a literally vital SEO factor.

And we all know, that image optimization is a key element for achieving a reasonable loading time ...

This is why we are talking so much about offline image optimization, image optimization plugins, lazy loaded images, etc ...

Still, there are situations where follow up actions and improvements are required ... For example, a multi-author site where is really hard to monitor all the images uploaded by other users ... Or newly purchased websites ... Or hastily created created beginner websites ... And so on ...

Needless to say, resizing dozens or hundreds of previously uploaded images would be a real nightmare ...

And yes of course, there are cool image optimization plugins like EWWW Image Optimizer for example ... But, usually these plugins will ...

require a permanent installation (even with temporary deactivations)
allow you to resize exclusively images uploaded directly to the media library
resize every single image according to the provided size limitations

So, what if I told you that there is a way which will allow you to ...

use a plugin that can be simply deleted once the job is done
resize images uploaded within a page or post, images uploaded directly to the media library and even images uploaded elswhere (backgrounds, theme headers, etc)
define different maximum sizes for each scenario mentioned above
exclude any images you want
