I already own a domain with yola.com

You can't transfer a free site to WA. If you have purchased a domain name then you can usually transfer

Thanks for answer Talle97. But I own the domain that I set up through yola.com. So, can I transfer my WA website to that domain?

You may be able to transfer your domain to WA hosting, you will have to check on their website for the DNS transfer settings. To host it at WA it needs to be set to:

ns1.mywahosting.com
ns2.mywahosting.com

Ok. That's what I thought. Just have to figure out how to do that at my other site! Thanks Talle97!

Hope you manage to figure it out. Shout back if you get stuck.

Yola is telling me I need to have had my domain for 60 days before pointing any other site to it. Should I just get a new domain with WA recommended providers!

Yes I would do that, domains are only usually around $10 for the year and after 60 days you should have your new website set up and be able to go back and transfer your old website and work on that too.

Can I post a blog without tags?

One of the tasks on lesson 10 level two is to write a blog about my progress. Just written a lengthy essay and it would not publish without me adding at least two tags. I have no idea what a tag is and even less of an idea of how to add them. I hope I can retrieve my post from the drafts when I have learnt this. Did I miss something in the training about tags or was it not mentioned? Thanks for any help.

Are you familiar with hastag like those on twitter, facebook and other social media?

Let me give you an example, if you post something like 'Enjoying the Superbowl atmosphere in this stadium #livingthelife'.

So the tag would be livingthelife, meaning you're living to the fullest enjoying the Superbowl football game. It's like a title or a headline of your post.

Thank you for the info and I worked out how to add them eventually after a bit of faffing about. Hugely satisfying sussing it out. .......and my post was still waiting for me in the drafts phewee!

Thanks to all of you for your input!

sag3 is right. My only extra comment is don't put in too many tags or categories use only one or two for the best SEO effect. You can use phrases as well as single words if you want. ~Marion

Yes you can. Only problem is it make it less likely to be found if people are searching for a specific topic.

Adding 1 or 2 tags makes you blog easier for people to find on a search. This in time will increase your traffic, increase the people seeing your blog, and gives you some value.

are tags necessary?

Simple put. They are not necessary, but are extremely helpful when you are using SEO and trying to get rankings, Increased rankings equals increase traffic.
