Progress So Far, And Other Musings

I decided I may as well update everyone on what's been happening with me. It's always hard to tell how many people actually read this due to very few leaving a comment below. But then again, I do get someone following me almost daily, so maybe someone is reading this.

Anyway, progress. What is my progress and why would I write about it?

I don't know. It just seems like the natural thing to do. You write about how far you have gone and what your plans and aspirations are.

So without further ado, here they are!

2 Month Progress report

I honestly can't tell how long I've been here. There is probably some place where I should be able to easily tell, but I think I'm around two months of being a premium member. Not much to really report.

I've finally settled down on two blogs. One is about oral health. It is geared specifically towards bad breath, but whenever I tell people that, they either give me some weird look, or they start laughing.

I mean, I don't honestly care if people laugh at me, or stare at me strangely. But everyone seems to like it better when I explain that I blog about oral health. But, 'nuff said.

The other site I'm working on is a religious/Christian site, where I try to blog about living in the light of the eternity that we have been given. I'm currently writing about pretty much anything Christian related, but am slowly trying to bring everything around one central theme.

If you care to take a look at both of those sites, you can find them on my profile page, down on the right (at least I think it's the right. Unless lefts and rights have changed...)

As far as words, I'm clocked in at about 88K. Hopefully I will hit over 90K by tonight. Shouldn't be that hard. Just need to find the time and determination.

I've also published exactly 70 articles, which is pretty nice. It's nothing too fancy, but it shows that I've been writing something at least.

Money-wise, I'm not making anything. But that is typically normal from what I hear. The oral health site has made me $16 already, while the Christian site hasn't had any traffic to it yet (besides for friends and family).

People Following Me!

Oh look! As I write this, someone followed me! It's been interesting having people randomly come and follow me. I'm guessing they read something I've written here, and follow me. Not that I write well on WA. I usually ramble.

I currently have 174 people following me, which I guess isn't bad. It's not like thousands of people, but it is what it is, and I should be grateful.

My rankings at WA also fluctuate. I'm currently at 2104, but I think that is due to all the writing I've been doing lately. I don't help many people out, due to time constraints, so my guess is that it's coming from my writing.

Other Musings I Have

And here, ladies and gentlemen, is where I start rambling full force. So if you thought all the above was pretty bad, prepare for some even more worse ramblings (as strange as that may sound).

I had a funny experience with site support the other day. It was actually sort of sad. I had set up my siterubix emails with Thunderbird, and kept getting this strange alert notice when I tried to check those emails.

Everything would work fine, and I could check those email, but I just kept getting alerts. So I decided to look up the problem, and see if it was easily fixable. And from what I looked at, most everyone said that you just needed to install a certain thing to your site, and it should be fixed.

Now you need to understand, if I had my own server, and was the site support, I could do what these people were asking to do. I've been around computer's enough (and have dabbled extensively with security related problems) that I can implement these types of things.

Now, granted, I don't know if what people were saying to install would really be beneficial, or if it would slow my site down. I don't know. My guess is that there is probably a reason why site support couldn't do this. But I'm jumping ahead of the story.

So I find the answer, and decide to contact site support to see if they can fix the issue. And do you know what answer I get? (I have to remember to laugh at this, otherwise I get a tad bit annoyed.)

"

This issue can be because of a particular version, compatibility of
outlook as we have checked the settings in another email clients and it
works fine. We would suggest you use another email client.

"

Oh, ha-ha-ha. I'm still puzzled over it. I expressly said that I was using Thunderbird, and they tell me that it can be because of 'compatibility of outlook'? Thanks support, that was really helpful.

Note: I'm not complaining in any-way against site-support, it is just that they seem to leave me with very vague answers about the problems. I realize that they have a lot of people to answer and so they have to answer quickly as possible. But I like to understand why things can't or don't work, and so I just get a little sad when the answers don't fulfill my desires. But that is okay.

Anyways, it was sort of, well, a sad day, to say the least. I sort of found a solution around the problem anyways, so I'll just move on, and be grateful.

In my other musings, I was thinking about whether Carson or Kyle really reads these blog posts. I know I got a comment from Kyle the other time I posted. But I can never be sure if they just skim the article, or actually read the entirety of it.

So if one of you two founders are reading this, I have a non-personal question to ask you, to make sure you're actually reading this: Is your hair naturally straight, wavy, or curly? I mean, I know, it may be a personal question. But it's one that I honestly can't tell from looking at photo's of both of you.

Anyway, moving on. In my writings I also came up with another strange word that was given to me as a suggestion:

I'm not entirely sure what they want me to say here. I realize that I just need to add an "in" in between the two words, and it works fine.

But "Funned it", well, it kind of sounds like a swear word. It definitely is an interesting word. Maybe I'll have to put it in one of my articles and see if anyone catches it, or asks me about it.

Thank You For Reading

If you made it through the entirety of this post, thanks for reading. Feel free to comment below, so that I know that you read it. Cuz I'm not sure if I would have read this entirely. (Then again, I might have read this if I knew I had written it).

So anyway, feel free to comment, like and follow me on WA. Here's to your success and well-being.

You are making great progress. Funned it, that will have to be made a new word in the dictionary lol. Keep up the good work.

Lol Sleeper, you do ramble, but in an interesting way. You seem to be progressing just fine. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comment. I realize that I ramble a bit too much, but it helps me to loosen up, and plus I can get whatever is on my mind on paper, so as to concentrate on other matters at hand (like writing for my blogs).

And hey, if my ramblings help other people see the humor and joy of things that happen while blogging, then I guess I shouldn't be to picky on my ramblings.

I read all of your post. You are very talented at writing. I like the detail and how you mix in a little humor to go with it. Keep up the good work. Michael

Thanks for reading the entire post. Yeah, I try to throw some humor in my posts, just to spice things up. Better to have humor and a smile than to have a frown and feel miserable.

I am not sure what other issues you have with siteSupport. They have always given me good answers even when my questions were vague.
