Yes, I know, you are all coming here thinking, here is another wealthy person, showing how he made so much money. Well, actually, I'm not that wealthy, and I will admit that this title is a little deceiving.

I was always intrigued by the occupy movement that was going on a while ago. All about the 99% fighting against the 1%, or something like that (I didn't really follow much of it.)

I didn't join that 1%. That percentage of people who have a lot of money. I'm not sure if it's an unfortunate or fortunate thing that I didn't join that group. I'll leave that to the philosophers. But what I did join, is the one percent of people who written a lot of words.

My guess is that you join the 1% of people who have written a lot of words when you reach around 60K words. I had been on 2% for the longest time (probably since 40-50K of words), and finally, after publishing a 2900+ word article that I wrote today, I came to the 1% of WA members who have written a lot of words

(Yes, I know, "a lot of words" sounds like a dumb thing to say, but at this point, I'm a little tired of writing, and can't quite think of a better phrase to say.)

Things I have learned while writing so much

I'm not sure I've learned much, but the things that I have learned are several things.

Writing about something your passionate about is a lot easier than writing about things you aren't. I just started a new blog this week, and in only 3 days, I've written two posts. Each of those posts were over 2500+ words (or close to that number).

When I write on my other blog(s), I can tell how much of a difference it is to write on them. It typically takes me a day to get around 1000 words done. And it also seems to takes me forever to find something I want to write about.

But with this new blog that I'm extremely passionate about, I have an article drafted in my head that I can write tomorrow (probably another 3000 word article, oh boy!), and several others that I need to draft before I write them.

So I really recommend that you find something that your passionate about, and that you want to write about, because that will go a long way when you write your articles.

Sometimes Check Grammar (in siterubix) isn't quite right. I came across this a week or so ago...

Yeah... I wasn't quite sure what to click for this one. I mean, I'm a native English speaker, so I pretty sure I know what words are and aren't in the language, and I'm pretty sure that this ain't in it.

Now granted, I may be entirely wrong, but I've honestly never seen been't in a sentence before. What is it a combination of? be not, or been not?

I can hear Shakespeare now, saying that famous line, "to be, or been't, that is the question!"

So all the above to say that just because the Grammar Checker suggest words to you don't mean that it is always correct.

If you want to achieve something, then make some goals. I honestly didn't make many goals while writing, but the goals that I did make sure did help me.

And don't just make writing goals, make blogging goals, social media goals, traffic goals, money goals, and any other goals you can think of.

Make sure to have daily goals, weekly goals, and goals for the month/year.

I will admit, goal setting and achieving is something that is specific for each and every person. There are some people who need to constantly feel like they are achieving something, and so having a lot of goals is good for them.

Then there are others who don't need that, but just need to be constantly doing something, either interacting with customers, writing content or something else. So goals may not mean a lot to them.

And there are probably other people that I'm totally forgetting, but like I've said before, I'm not quite thinking clearly right now. It might be because I'm seeing if I can write another 1000 words before I call it a day... (only 300 or so, and then this article will be there!)

My Goals For The Future

My main goal for the future is definitely getting to the 0%. I know of one person who has done that (I think), and I think they were around 100K words, so maybe in a month or two, I'll achieve that goal, assuming I can write 10K words a week, which seems feasible.

Though I'm still not sure what exactly I will be if I ever reach 0% (or 100% more than other WA members). Technically, only one person can hold that spot, because if there is someone higher than me, I would only reach 99.999999(repeated, wherever that math symbol is) and thus not 100%

I guess once you round it doesn't really matter, so maybe it doesn't really matter. But it would be interesting to know none-the-less.

Another goal is that I want to start writing longer articles, and not just 1K articles (which were many of the ones that I wrote).

I'm pretty sure that I can do this, it's just a matter of structuring the article, so that I'm actually writing about something, and not something where I write on and on, and keep on repeating myself so that I get a lot of words in (like I'm doing in this article).

And I probably should make it a goal to get more sleep seeing as that previous paragraph was a complete run on sentence. Definitely don't want those in my articles either. (Hmm, interesting niche idea. All about run-on sentences, with articles that are all one long, run-on sentence...)

Any-who, that's all I have for today. Stay tuned for something else that I decide to randomly blog about, assuming I don't keel over and die from writing too much.

Where are you at in your writing goals? Have you reached the 1% yet? Don't hesitate to leave a comment!

Also, I realize that everyone doesn't use Siterubix to write their content. If you are one of those people, then feel free to share where and how you write your content. Also, don't feel afraid to follow me, I don't bite (unless it's biting on food that I'm eating...)

Been't, never seen that one yet. These are mere suggestions based on 100's of sentence and grammar checks, depending on how you write though they will not always be custom fit to your writing style (but are based on linguistic mechanics).

Nice work on reaching the 1%, your writing is really coming along and you should be proud of your accomplishments thus far.

Language mechanics? Must have missed that class in school. Ha-ha. Actually, I was presented with another weird one - 'funned it'. Hopefully I'll post an image in my next blog, but it definitely was an interesting suggestion.

Thanks for the comment.

Woohoo! Congrats on reaching the 1% in Site Content and well done your 3000-word post. My longest posts by far are when I transcribe interviews.

It actually turned into a 3400 word article. And I sort of felt like I didn't completely answer the question that I was writing about. But, that is the life of a writer.

Thanks for the comment!

I am a writer also and my website is super content heavy so I might be coming for you soon in the 1%!

Awesome! Can't wait until you reach it. Keep cranking out all that content!
