Please bare with me, I'm trying very hard to grasp this concept....I understand I have to buy a domain name to be able to create a website here- which hosts the actual site itse

Awesome. You have been a great help. Thank you so much!

Yup. You'll undoubtedly need separate domains. However, you can start each niche off with free siterubix subdomains if you want and transfer them to own domains later. You can get domains at Namecheap for $10 but try the coupon code buythedomain for hopefully half-price or SUMMERSMASH for at least a $1 off. Namecheap let you change the DNS to point to the free Premium Members hosting here at point-of-purchase which saves time and they throw in free WhoIs Guard for the first year. Rich.

Thank you for your reply. Is it alright to just buy a basic domain? Or do I need to worry about purchasing a protection plan? I have not checked out those sites you mentioned, but I will. I was looking at GoDaddy and they have a public domain or for an extra $7.99 I could purchase a private domain. Is there any benefit to purchasing the private domain?

That's why I suggested Namecheap, they throw in free WhoIs Guard (privacy) for the first year and then it's a couple of bucks per year thereafter. GoDaddy rip you off over this, often charging more for privacy than for the domain name. They also give you endless unnecessary upsells. If you don't opt for privacy, then your personal details can be found by anyone using http://www.internic.net/whois.html Rich.

Tip. If you do go for Namecheap, make a note of the DNS details in Websites & Hosting in the small grey box. You can enter these at the point of purchase and it means you're ready to go immediately. If you don't or use another service like GoDaddy you'll have to change them afterwards following this training https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/wa-hosting-setting-up-your-domain-dns and it can take up to 72 hours for this change to populate before you'll be ready to build your website. Rich.
