Feedback on my Website so far please
Here is my Website so far. Please note it is very much work in progress. I am stuck with some sort of "writers block" re what to do with menu structure as well too much info out there etc etc. As it is of a "Philosophical/Spiritual" nature, the aim is not to make money but more, (together with website construction), as some sort of intellectual interest for me, and importantly as a place to help those of us with like minded issues. (maybe with time however, those $ will come rolling in! Ha, ha!:)
Any advice re menu structure, content etc will be appreciated. Also is it not too personal? Should I remain anonymous etc?
To save you time, there is so far, only content in the 'About Me' 'Big Question' and 'Grief' pages.

I don't know what your real name is, but I don't believe you should be anonymous. You should put your name and photo on your About Me page. Since you are not ugly at all. So that your readers could relay to you. What are you afraid of?
I don't like that video for 2 reasons. Firstly, the "ShuttleStock" name on the video is annoying. Secondly, I don't think it carry much substance about what death really is about. It couldn't remove the fear of death for many people with just a few abstract sentences.
I suggest a rolling blog with different categories, use all the subject titles as you categories. Then it will flow better later on when you add on more posts. Otherwise you will need to keep adding pages and you don't know where to put them.
As content is concern, your "The Big Question". I hope I would not offend you by saying this, it is not good.
Why I say this? When you post something like it, it is your personal opinion that the visitors are expecting. If they want to see that video, they can visit YouTube. If you want to include the video, that is okay. But you should use the video as an introduction, or a contrast to your own opinion.
Tell the visitor what you think about death. If you have nothing to say then you shouldn't have posted.
Please ignore me if you find my comment offensive or rude. I just want to give you my honest opinion.

O.K. I'll try not be anonymous...As you can see it is a controversial subject and I was wondering maybe be anonymous but probably better as you say.
I also find video name is annoying. Interestingly I did use it as introduction on my other site (Just on Death:) which is on 'back burner' for now. The video is not intended to convey much substance on Death and was more to try to open the viewers mind a bit.
Regarding the "Big Question" that IS what I think about Death. For me it is a total mystery, but for others maybe they have certainty of Heaven or whatever else their faith gives them. I am more interested in find what others opinions are and together we can form some consensus if at all possible.

You are welcome. It doesn't matter if your topic is controversial, as long as you give them your opinion or idea, that is what that counts.
If they don't like what you say, either they will leave or they tell you what they think is correct. Isn't it your objective at the first place.
You should have talked about it and tell the readers that you think death is mystery and ask them for their views. Like your reply here is exactly what you need to put on your website.

BTW: What is your real name?...I just see MisterWailor on your profile and in 'About' on your sites. Is this your real name or are you trying to be anonymous & what is your first name? (which is more personal I think)

Hi SKC i alway think when people hide themselves they are trying to hide something or it may be a scam of some kind, the best way is to be open and transparent and then, at the end of the day its what ever you feel comfortable with. Your site is looking good and all of your headings have subheading except the depression one it is difficult to express depression and make others comprehend unless you have been through it yourself - I look forward to seeing some more of what you write and to watch your site develop x
Thanks Judith...Have still to think of topics to subhead under Depression. Still not sure about that menu...was also thinking of putting all the subheads as main headings, (i.e. Fear, Anxiety etc) and then as sub heads some sort of resolution to these issues..

Congratulations, your website looks very appealing, and I'm hoping many will visit it! Bravo!
If we are honest with one another the "big questions' of life" are all challenges that face us sooner or later! (one doesn't have to be a philosopher to ask them!) The pursuit of wealth is of course important, as we need to nurture our bodies as well as those of our families....but equally, we cannot afford to neglect our spiritual well-being. We do need balance in our lives!
In our search for meaning, too many of us equate material well- being with "life" but, as you are no-doubt aware, all the the major religions and spiritual movements point to something much greater.
Although I regard myself as a convinced Christian (trying to be!) I am also attracted by the practical aspects of Buddhism and the practice of meditation (now referred to as the practice of "mindfulness") which I believe help to bring meaning to our existence.
I will be commenting later, on emotional intelligence which I coached in an extra-curricular fashion for many years. I personally am grateful for the insights it has brought, and continues to bring!

Thanks Arthur for your kind comments and advice, Quite a subject this and I sometimes wonder if I've "bitten off more than I can chew!" (This is often a controversial and difficult subject, plus all the floundering around actually try to build the site!) May well "pick your brains" later re: emotional intelligence. Thanks
