Le World Is A Much Better Place Today

A few days ago, Barak Obama came to Montreal to speak about his views on what is going on in the world. There were 12,000 people present at his conference. Although I couldn’t go, I read an article in the paper this morning that said that he thinks that the world is a much better place today than it has ever been before. I don't want to give a history lesson here, but that's encouraging!

He mentioned that because we live in North America and because we only have eyes for what is going on in the present time, and the fact that we don't teach enough history are the reasons why we are all so discouraged about the NOW.

This bad perception not only has a bad impact on our moods but also has a negative impact on entrepreneurs, investors and business owners.

It was one of the most positive articles that I have ever read. It brought my spirits up and motivated me even more to continue building my businesses.

Let's not get negativity in the media bring us down.

Let's not believe everything that we read or hear.

Yes, there are urgent matters that we must tend to in order to save our planet, but it's not too late.

Let's get the facts straight and live for the now. History speaks for itself.

Obama is right, if we had to choose a period in history that we would like to live in, most of us would probably choose today.

Like the 44th president of the United States always says, ''YES WE CAN''.

Keep smiling. Life is amazing.

Barak Obama is a gifted orator much like Ronald Reagan and JFK before him. I think positive messages are very needed at this time. Here in the US we have many issues we still need to address but positivity is always good.

Yes, you are correct. They were great orators as well. Thanks for stopping by!

85% of all the news we hear and see involves drama to attract attention.

The other 15% is good news and is not that important with newspapers and TV.

"We are what we make ourselves so think positive." Tom Short.

Tom.

Thanks, Tom. This is why I decided to launch my own GOOD NEWS online paper. :) I want to make a difference and try to change people's habits. Since the launch of my paper, I find that it's even difficult to get people talking about good and positive things.

Yes, we all find disaster gets attention first.

I watch the news on TV every night and it always starts with disasters.

Trump is not a politician and puts his foot in his mouth every day and it may be his attention-seeking way.

Just an Australian thinking thought.

Tom.

Thank you for your feedback. :)

I can't agree with that. There are more homeless people, more people out of work, drug addiction is at an all time high and crime has climbed so high that our jails and prisons are overflowing. How can he say the world is a much better place than it has ever been. I agree that positivity is what everyone needs to have, but we need to do something besides making speeches to make this happen. I don't have all the answers, but if each of us would (if we can financially) help some homeless person in some way make a home for themselves, or watch for criminal activity in your neighborhood and report it to local authorities to investigate, then maybe this world would be a tad bit better. That's just my opinion.

Have a blessed time
where ever you are

Thank you for your opinion. You are right there as well. Homelessness and famine are a huge problem. I believe that he was mainly referring to historical facts: wars and the economy.

I’m not a fan of his
But positive is key in all we do
Thanks
Tim

Yes, Tim! Positive is key. ;)

I certainly agree, Tim!

Jeff

I agree, and the world continues to improve with the 45th President of the United States!

Oh yes! I am fully aware of that. :)

Sonia--we can view the current world as a glass half empty or a glass half full. I choose the latter!
