How to Fix 404 Errors?

I tried submitting this as a question, but no matter how many times I clicked the button, it would not go.

I have internal links in my posts that when clicked give a 404 page not found, even though the page is there. I have went to settings then permalinks and clicked save changes, like Wordpress suggested, but that didn't help. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

This training may help Siobhan. Let us know if you are able to fix it.

Thank you. I will!

I just went in and completely changed the articles that I had linked to. I still don't know why they were doing that, because I would have the same post linked to other content and the permalink would work fine. Would my theme do that if it thinks they are not related?

That is quite possible. Some themes have strange issues with some tasks but if it is only this article maybe it won't happen again. If it does it might be worth considering moving to a simpler theme like Astra.

OK, thank you.

It's the permalink that identifies the page, so you're on the right track.

When you get the 404 message, note the permalink that was being searched for. Then go to the page's properties and check its permalink. If it's different, change it.

That's not the problem.
