What is eEtiquette? What does it mean to be polite, cordial or professional over the internet? For me this means a great deal. Depending upon how I am approach via emails or sms texting will determine whether or not I will be interested in what you have to offer. If a marketer entirely ignore me as a person and only see me as dollar signs while pitching their offer I will more than likely delete them. However if said marketer addresses me as an individual and personalize their message for me, there is a greater chance that you will have my full attention and a potential new or repeat customer/ referral.
Personalization can and will go a very long way if done correctly. It can also be overwhelming or too demanding if over excessive. When contacting or making a connection with a potential customer or referral you should always address them by name when in person and by name or email when via emails, whichever is provided. Additional information is always great to obtain , anniversary, birthday and graduation dates are a must have. Combine these dates with our well known holidays and you'll have created a tool that will build long lasting relationships which is the key to a successful online business.
Keep the need to remedy a problem for your potential customer/ referral in mind when you connect with them. Keep it personal with a touch of business. Explain how you can help THEIR problem, not the general problem.
When they feel that you are truly here for them (customer/ referral) and present an honest solution to THEIR problem then they will see you as an authority and or professional in your niche. This will then have built enough trust for them to make that purchase or join your organization.
