From Gamer to Player
I'm not ashamed to say it.....hang on let me stand up to tell the group "I'm a 38 year old man, and I still play computer games"....phew!! There I've said it!
I'm sure I'm not the only middle aged man who plays computer games, am I? But even if I am who cares! It gives me some bonding time with my 4 children.
Up until about 3 months ago that's all I would do is play games on my tablet for something to do, I have even been playing the well known Clash of Clans for nearly 4 years, yes 4 years! Now that's commitment isn't it.
I would literally be on there every moment I could thinking I was doing something with my life, but was I really??? Well I thought I was anyway until recently.....
I logged into the game one day and the game was down for technical faults so I went to my pal Google to see if he had anything for me to do, I typed in "online games" but before i could type "games" the word work came up.
Now I'm not exactly the online working type of guy but I clicked it because I was bored, and the words came up "BE YOUR OWN BOSS" Now I can't even organize my own socks in the morning let alone tell myself what to do for the whole day😂
I took a look anyway and what did I find??? A place where I could build a website and meet new people, im good with meeting people but I couldn't even spell website let alone build one! "Ah what the hell" I thought, I'll give it a try.
It took me to a place called Wealthy Affiliate where the people were a bit crazy and the language was alien to me to be honast but I stayed a while just for the fun.
Three months on and I'm still here and loving it!!
I've learned to live with the crazy but very helpful, genuine people and I've started taking classes in the website building language which is still a bit alien to me but I'm getting there.
Since I've been here I have deleted all my games off my tablet, even clash of Clans which I have played for nearly 4 years wanting to concentrate on my online business which is all I can think of.
So what I'm saying is.....I'm no longer a hard-core gamer....
NOW IM A SERIOUS PLAYER!!

Hahah, you're not alone!. I'm 36 and I just counted 4 different types Christmas trees I've been collecting on Clash Of Clans. We must have joined in the same year :P
I joined WA in 2012 and back then I quit gaming (PS3), watching TV and most social events to really learn and apply this thing called affiliate marketing. Nowadays I can game all I like, but I prefer to spend time on my sites :). Sounds like you're going to be one of the successful ones :)
Yeah I'm a bit like that... want to do so many things at once... definitely for me though...if I could make a decent living out of this is love to do this all day..
Yeah me too, since I've started I've bee sent loads of freebies from stores to do product reviews on just by e-mailing them direct and asking if they had anything to send me to do a review on.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that loves playing games, lol! Although I've never really played much on the PC games, mostly it's been through PS3 and PS4.
I've always loved playing video games since I was a kid, lol. And, now I'm around the same age as you...I remember starting out on that one really basic game as a kid...Pong or something...then came the Atari, Nintendo, Sega, and so on.
I know how addicted I can get to it and spend hours playing games, so I try to avoid playing them too often. But, since my son has gotten a bit older and absolutely loves playing them, it's hard to resist all the time.
It makes it difficult to get things done here when I have to say no to not only him, but myself, lol. But, otherwise, I'd spend tons of time playing instead of working, so the rule I've made for myself is that I'll only play awhile if I get my work done first.
