Constructive Chaos
... or so I thought.
Off and on, I live in what I call Constructive Chaos. This is a harmful place to be.
Why?
It's an illusion. The reality is Disorganzed Procrastination.
After watching Fridays Live Event, I decided to make a change. Saturday, I got up, and made my bed... (for those that have watched the Webinar, you'll understand...). That led to me cleaning my office space (well, my main work area anyway, the rest is in progress).
See, my office has become the 'Gathering Place' for some reason. I've had to layout some rules about this Sacred Zone because of it. I am now cleaning up things that get left behind by others, and I will be instituting NEW RULES yet again! Or maybe I'll just take Glee in the fact that Thing 1 & Thing 2 hang out with me, and suck it up...
Anyway back to what I was saying...
After my work space was cleared, that led to 'other housekeeping' duties, which then led me to this morning. I finally have all my Invoicing Done!! With my Accounts Receivable hat on, I began the dreaded paperwork, a whole hour of PAPERWORK (can I say that here?).
As of today I, I have decided to add one more goal... Organization!! I can no longer accept Constructive Chaos, as it no longer serves me! (Did it ever, I wonder)...
Now to find the Squirrel that is Organization...

I often shuffle my chaos around a bit Shaunna, but then I can never find anything again. I just live in my organised chaos as far as my workspace is concerned.

Well done - it does help to be better organised, I can become organised almost with ease, but staying organised - that's a whole other skill for me :-)

That's the trouble with cleaning Shaunna, one thing leads to another. I prefer to leave it to hubby these days as he is retired and has more time.

Wow very productive!! I am down at my Mums for the school holidays so I am working at her dining room table with all kind of 'stuff' every where.
I read a book saying act 'As if' so I am just acting as if my laptop is sat on a gorgeous neat desk looking out to sea lol. I can smell the sea air.
Are your 'Things' the Equivalent to my 'Girl' and 'Boy'? If so I completely understand, as the table (My desk looking out to sea) is the dumping ground for everything the 'girl' and 'boy' decide to dump.
I always have every good intention of tidy desk, tidy mind. But my 3 humans that inhabit my world obviously didn't get that memo hahaha.
Oh well I'll keep living the fantasy that I live in an immaculate white minimalist beach house with a meditation mat on a porch looking out to the beach and sea,, and a fridge full of water and wine, and I am living a full time laptop life . : )
Thing 1 & Thing 2 are Adult Boys... with their own homes... WHEW
My fantasy home is similar, but with a grey, Beachwood look as opposed to white...
Yeah grey would be beautiful too! Maybe mine is more of a shabby chic cream? My weekend or 'retreat home' is a cabin in the mountains. That would truly be the dream, a beach house and a mountain cabin! Oh how I love that dream : )
Ah I love it. My 'boy' is 12 and my 'girl' is 9 so I guess I can forgive them lol
Oh if only I could kill those two birds with one stone! I have yet to find the double whammy dream home. I usually find one or the other, not a combo! But then I have the UK as a base (not very mountainous).
How does it go ? A tidy desk is a tidy mind, or is it, a tidy mind is a tidy desk, cleanliness is next to....I have managed to convert my mess into two piles. Current and not. They are side by side and interchangeable. I just never know whether I'm 'current' or not. Example, my post this morning, written last night, notes taken a month ago, took me half an hour to find them and another to remember what they meant.
Good luck. I'm sure you've utilised 'Feng Shui' squirrel before now.
At this point, I am aiming for a happy middle ground... I think I will call it

Is Feng Shui squirrel like that woman that comes in and tidy's your home and folds your clothes like clothes shops?
I'm sure the 'Chi' is flowing in all directions now.
Yes I think you are on to something here. I’ve no doubt my cluttered desk hinders my productivity. Time to get organised
