Here is my about me page. It is 14% plagarized (because of the quote/excerpt) - Is that acceptable, if not what percentage if any is?

975 words (Compared to the reccomended 93)
20 paragraphs (Compared to the reccomended 7)
4 headings (Compared to the reccomended 3)

What if anything should I cut and or move to another section?

Asking because I am not sure if the suggestions given are due to search engine optimization but there is obviously a reason whey they are there.

Finally, does this post violate the rule: (I don't want to do that) suggestions?

Don't copy and paste content from elsewhere. Copying content from other sources, even if it is your own, isn't of benefit to the community.

Your thoughts anyone?

WELCOME

Welcome to Cannabis World, we are glad you are here. Our company was created to bring Cannabis from the darkness and into the light, to tell the world just how great its benefits actually are. There are benefits to the economy, public health, and to each and every person who can recognize the therapeutic properties of this plant. Everyone should have common knowledge of the data that backs up these claims. From there, what you decide to do with it is your choice.

MY STORY

On Monday, July 24, 1967, The Beatles (yes The Beatles) call for the legalization of marijuana in a full-page advertisement entitled “The law against marijuana is immoral in principle and unworkable in practice” that appeared in The Times newspaper. It was supported by 64 of the most prominent members of British society including the band and Brian Epstein, their manager. An excerpt from the advertisement reads as follows:

“The herb Cannabis sativa, known as 'Marijuana' or 'Hashish', is prohibited under the Dangerous Drugs Act. (1965) The maximum penalty for smoking cannabis is ten years' imprisonment and a fine of £1,000 - Yet informed medical opinion supports the view that cannabis is the least harmful of pleasure-giving drugs, and is, in particular, far less harmful than alcohol. Cannabis is non-addictive, and prosecutions for disorderly behavior under its influence are unknown.”1

A little girl, me, was born 41 days later, on September 3, 1967 - Virgo’s rule! I suppose it was the notion of many in that era. My dad smoked, a lot. He was not my biological father but I did not know that at the time. That is a story for another time - he raised me until his death in 1980, when I was 13 years old. Anyway, let’s back to the memories. I should warn you that what I am about to tell you may be alarming for some. It may offend and perhaps enrage you.

When I was around nine years old, we lived in a very small house and did not have much money. I remember dressing in bell bottom plaid pants and a Christmas picture of my little brother with a hole in his britches but excitement in his eyes as he was going to check his stocking, kinda reminded me of the Coppertone Kid. The house had rats. We once slept in the bathtub as we listened to the traps going off one after the other. My dad loved pot smoking music, as I like to call it, like Harry Chapin and Deep Purple. He was forever sprawled on the couch with these huge headphones on in his own little chilled world. He grew Marijuana. In fact, he once made my little brother and I share a room so he could use the other to hang and dry his six foot plants. I am not entirely sure what he did with them afterwards but what I do know is that it made the whole house wreak. The odor is quite distinctive, not easily forgotten.

Why have I told you this story? It is just an illustration of the mindset of the times. Along with many things throughout history, trends change. There will always be good trends and there will always be bad ones but many of them we will remember. Changes will inevitably become our future and the future is now, embrace them.

WHY I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE

“To make a difference in someone’s life, you don’t have to be brilliant, rich, beautiful, or perfect. You just have to care enough and be there.” Anonymous

I have always been a people person. I was my granny’s favorite much to the chagrin of my aunt’s and uncles. I have been an entrepreneur most of my adult life and really just want to take this opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with others.

If I can provide you with information that you can gain knowledge from, a product that will ease your pain or an opportunity that will bring you financial freedom, then I have done my job and this site has done what I have intended.

I believe that helping others by giving them knowledge to improve their lives will make a small differences in those that surround us and perhaps their world a better place.

One person at a time, one day at a time, and one project at a time, anyone can make a difference that will leave lasting impacts on others.

“We rise by lifting others.” Robert Ingersoll

THE GOAL OF CANNABIS WORLD

The term Cannabis is often used interchangeably with hemp and marijuana. The distinction is unclear to many and some believe all three to be synonymous. You can understand then that confusing the three can make it difficult to discern the usage and benefits in general. The fact that remains is they are NOT the same. They each have very distinct differences.

Our goal at Cannabis World is to explore what differentiates one from the other. We will explain, in layman’s terms, how each plant is used as well as their unique properties. We will also inspect the benefits to our economy and public health system. You will undoubtedly find your share of historical data and current events scattered about as well.

We are not one-sided. With every pro, there are also cons - we will discuss those too, from legal issues and political opinions to myths and stereotypes. After all, I don’t believe that anyone can make an informed decision without knowing the facts.

It has been said that knowledge is power. Here at Cannabis World, we want to give YOU the knowledge so that YOU can be powerful.

If you have questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help.

All the best,

Julie

Hi - on reflection, your use of the word cannabis may be seen to be misleading, and perhaps attract the wrong kind of attention and deter affiliate programs. After all, it is still illegal in most parts of the world. What you are actually promoting is cannabidiol - a derivative of cannabis.

30/50 states (not SC yet, where I am) have legalized some form or another so yes there is a way to go. But amazon sells gummies etc. and we can get CBD oil in the vape shop or online. The site will eventually encompass all of these varieties. In addition, max bounty had a very high payout on a stock trading business opp and also a software business opp. Those were my thoughts when I decided on the niche. I do not participate in its consumption. In fact, I know very little about it at all but I am learning.

i wouldn't stress about it too much. About me pages are often edited as sites mature. Somewhere in there is a few lines that you will (eventually), decide is all you need.
About Me pages should be about You, and what motivates you to help others. Forget the product(s).
You seem quite passionate about your topic, but keep the passion for the blog articles. Some of what you have written above could easily be woven into a blog.

Good luck with WA.
Regards,
Michael.

Your content isn't plagiarized. You have used quotation marks and acknowledged the author and this is the correct way to utilise any quote in your content. The only warning I'd give you is that when you state the author is anonymous ,do some research to make sure it actually is. I've seen articles with anonymous written at the end of the quote simply because it's easier then finding out whoever wrote it. Jim

Shortcakes, you can have an external link to the quote, or state where you got the info from and highlight the name and link it back, however, you cannot just copy and paste if you were not the author, it needs to be in your own words. Even a rephrasing is not allowed, because it has to be unique even, if you link it back to the original source.

That's my input...hopefully others will give you tips also :)
