Okay so I'm not familiar with the specs of what the part names and the size, speed or saftey programs data numbers mean or even what the price ranges are for computers these d

The best thing is to go the store, tell them what you need it for and they will advise you. if you don't know, telling you spec. wouldn't make any sense, they will be able to show and explain it to you more and better if you're there as well.

What do you want it to do? Specs only mean anything if you know the expected outcome

Hi Cynthia,

Please have a look at the table in the attached pic below.

In the table I provided, the recommended processor is i5, but now the highest we have in the market out there is i9. Each processor has generations (versions).
For example, I have a Dell laptop with i7 as the processor. My Dell i7 laptop is the 6th generation one.
The higher the generation of the processor, the better it is, it has more features, faster, etc.

The i7 processor is considered good enough. My husband also upgraded the memory, so it can perform more tasks. I use it for my online teaching (passed the IT test with the company I work for) and for my website.

Hope this helps.

Ferra thank you for that chart and the other computer info. Really helped me understand a little more.
I look forward to getting to know you.

You're welcome, Cynthia. Happy to help. My husband works for Intel Corporation, so I learn a lot about computers from him.

Yes let's connect. WA is a great place to grow our network. We support and learn from each other. 😀👍

Have a great week.

Ferra

There is so much variation in the models, specs, and pricing. I hope someone who is more tech-savvy can help you.
