Do People Make Money At Wealthy Affiliate?
On occasion I've seen new members asking the question: Do people make money at Wealthy Affiliate?
Or...
How do you make money with this program or system?
While money can be made directly through Wealthy Affiliate as an affiliate, some people actually join with the wrong concept in mind. Maybe they misunderstood a review they read, or enough information wasn't supplied from the source content to clarify what WA is all about, but some members join thinking this place is a money making scheme like revenue sharing, buying ad packs, or building a downline like an MLM platform.
As current and active members know, Wealthy Affiliate is none of those things. As I see it, WA is comprised of 2 things primarily:
- Training
- Community
Wealthy Affiliate is all about training and community support and engagement. We learn how to make money online through any interest, but at the same time we also have the option of referring other members to WA for a commission.
I think we need to place emphasis on the training when making our recommendations, as some new members arrive here and don't even seem to know what they're supposed to be doing here. Anyone who is clear that this is a training platform will immediately look for how to get started on that training.
Those who join and instantly seek out how to jump aboard the money train have joined WA with a wrong concept. New members who arrive believing it's an instant way to start generating revenue will be disappointed and simply go no further. There's no point introducing someone to Wealthy Affiliate when they are seeking something completely different.
I think it needs to be clear in our call to action that people can "learn" how to make money online at WA, rather than join WA to make money.

It took me awhile to join Wealthy Affiliate. I thought the name "Wealthy Affiliate" reflected and promoted just another scammy affiliate product. Consequently, I never considered it a community. As far as the training goes, there are so many training programs online that I saw nothing that made WA stand out from the rest. Chris Farrell's Membership site was easily recognizable.

Definitely! There's enough money making work from home online scams, I would hate for people to mistake this site for one of those types. The fact you can bring your own site idea here and work on it, being guided and supported with each step is really what sets this site apart.
That's absolutely true, Angela. Sometimes people join here and are confused as to what WA is really about.
You are right. When promoting WA we need to be clear that it is a membership site with great training and a great community, but success will only come if they put the work in to build up their websites.
That's exactly right, Marcus. I've seen people post questions soon after they join, wondering where they can find the money making system on the WA site.
I wonder if it's partly due to the expectations set by all the other money making opportunities out there that promise easy money for zero work.
Everyone will make money with online marketing, but patience is essential. Success will not occur overnight. Have a good one

I don't care much about rank. The main reason for reading the blogs is continued training plus I have the time to devote to reading the blogs. I thought I got the gist of your blog, but apparently not. My apologies. I shall reread it. No offense intended. Try to have a good one.

I understand. Maybe it has something to do with the "herd instinct". I find your blogs to be very germane and I always learn something. What threw me off were the last two paragraphs, but you are correct. The main body deals with the fantastic community we belong to and the training we receive. I hope I got it right that time. Lol. I agree yes it reflects something people when the question is whether it earn money. Indeed, this is not a well of money to do without anything. If that was the case then I guess everyone would have enough money or maybe more.
The same applies to the MLM system. A good system but with the false promises and methods it is spoiled and it will go at least the next hundred years that reputation has been refined.
Talking about money in general is futile because money comes when doing the right things.
