Can Affiliate Marketing Be a Career?
Can affiliate marketing be a career? Like, a real career?
Sure it can, but it's more like having your own business rather than a career and being employed by someone else. Of course, you can always use the skills you learn here at Wealthy Affiliate to gain employment in a role that requires this skill set. Either that, or you could end up being the affiliate manager for a company that has an affiliate program.
As you can see, apart from being equipped with the necessary knowledge to create your very own online business in affiliate marketing, this training and application of knowledge can even help get you jobs that you were not qualified or experienced enough to apply for before.
You Could Do Both
If you currently are out of work or would like a change of employment scenery, you could actually seek out a job (full or part-time) related to online marketing and everything it entails, while at the same time building up your online business until it becomes your fulltime money making gig.
As it can take a while to get your online business up and rolling and earning enough money to sustain you, it only makes sense to seek out some work in a related field. This will also serve to increase your skill levels and you will definitely learn new things in your job that can be successfully applied to your online business.
Wealthy Affiliate Gives You Options
Wealthy Affiliate isn't just about learning the basics of affiliate marketing and creating a niche website. The skills and knowledge gained through the training here and the endless resources supplied by the community equip us all with so many new skills that there are even more money making possibilities open to us.
Some here have gone on to create membership sites, build websites for clients, create local business directories, write content for clients.
The list goes on.
Build your business and, while waiting patiently for it to establish itself and draw a regular income, look for other opportunities to use what you've learnt.

It is an interesting thought. I've often wondered whether it will make it's way into the classrooms and be taught as a career alongside business management. If it isn't already I think it should be part of the curriculum somehow.
Makes good sense - what a valuable opportunity we have here with WA. Such a pleasure to at last become involved with a really decent group of people, a rare thing on the internet, so much greed and corruption out there. WA is truly the best!
You are right, it is a rare thing. Most groups I've been a part of have usually been quite negative and unsupportive. But not this one.
Great post. I like the last point you make. We are building upon new skills, and the world certainly does love marketing. We are building professional marketing tools that we could take into a new kind of job if we wanted.
Marketing is such a huge thing these days, especially online, so these skills we learn can be invaluable.
I agree and that is probably the main reason a lot of our members are here. Thanks for posting.

I agree. The skills learned at WA can help us in a variety of ways. This blog has good suggestions both for self employment and working for others or a combination of both. I like the message
