10 Reasons Why People Work From Home
There are many advantages to working from home, either doing your regular job remotely or running a business from home. These days more and more people are opting for this type of lifestyle, or at least working towards being able to do most or all of their work from home.
So what are some of the advantages of working from home? Why are so many people aspiring to this goal these days?
In no particular order of importance, let's look at 10 reasons why people work from home.
#1 - More Time With Family
Having the freedom to spend more time with the family, loved ones and friends is one of the greatest reasons why people want to work from home. Some even opt to start a home business with their partner. Life's way too short to miss out on this valuable family time. And even though you might be busy at home, at least you're still nearby.
#2 - Fire Your Boss
Just about everyone would love to do this. "Boss, you're fired". I'm now running my own home-based business. I call the shots. I'm in control of my future. I'll now work to make myself wealthy rather than my boss.
#3 - No Travel Time
How much time is wasted travelling to work and back each day? Not to mention the frustration of being stuck in traffic jams. There's none of that when working from home. Simply get out of bed, make a coffee and walk into the home office.
#4 - Save Money
While a home business may incur some expenses, many of these are already being paid for anyway; such as internet, electricity, phone bills. Where you do save is the fuel no longer being used driving to work and back. Plus, throughout the work day at a regular job you might be buying lunch and coffee from a café. At home you can make a healthy lunch and drink coffee there.
#5 - Work Your Own Hours
It does take a certain degree of self-discipline to work from home, but you do get to pick and choose when you work. If you have something going on at the kid's school in the afternoon, you can attend, catching up on some work later that night. Or you might decide to put in a really big day so you can have the next day free to do whatever you like. You have options, and that's all a part of having freedom.
#6 - Flexibility
This goes hand in hand with the point above. Flexibility is also freedom. If you have errands to run throughout the day, you can do them. No need to worry about having time to drop the kids off at school or pick them up again. You can even take your laptop to the park and get some work done.
#7 - Increased Productivity
The home environment can have its distractions, but generally it's way less distracting than the environment offered up by a busy work place. If you have some alone time at home, you can really get in the zone and focus. Just leave the TV off as voices can be a major distraction.
#8 - Less Stress
Without having to get up early, get ready and rush to get to work on time, your day naturally starts out less stressful and tends to continue that pattern. Having a boss always keeping an eye on you is stressful enough, without everything else that a regular job might entail. Working from home, for the most part, is way less stressful.
#9 - Wear Whatever You Want
There's no uniform, business suit or expensive attire to put on every day. You can work in your bathrobe or underwear if you like. In fact, being able to dress more comfortably often leads to better productivity.
#10 - Lifestyle Freedom
Every advantage to working from home combined leads to lifestyle freedom, and for many, this is the end goal in the modern world. With the internet, the possibilities are endless, and never before have we all been presented with so many opportunities to work from home or anywhere else in the world that we desire.

I fit all those except #1 because I don't have any family in the area (they live 800 miles away) but I get to spend more time riding horses and petting my cat

I treat my online business as a way to reach people who need my help through my niche website. Building a website to promote my advocacy to raise autism awareness and understanding. I treat it more of a charitable work which I enjoy. I have a part time work but I'm still considering working full-time from home in the future that will lead to financial freedom. Another reason---companies hire people to work remotely now--because you can hook into their mainframe. You can live in one city and work for a company in a different state
I have a different reason: It's my hobby. And the time I spend on it get's monetized. What better hobby can you have?
I did not have to solve practical tasks. My basic form became lousy. So I have found out that I can not escape from among other people. But that does not mean I can not develop online too
10 great reasons for choosing to work from home. The big one for me is that I can work the hours I want, and usually more than you could if you were going to the office.
Started yesterday at 3 in the afternoon, finished at midnight, it is great isn't it!
Being able to work more, work less, or juggle your hours around is a huge advantage. Sounds like you've got a good work ethic.
