Does anyone have any insight into this recent outbreak of Spam Bots?
I've been on a massive 'Operation...Report Spam', and for every report 2 more spring up...
Keep repo

So much of that spam lately. Very annoying!

Update... Kyle did stop in to chat this morning, and they are working on a solution!!

Glad to hear it.

They are worse than "squirrels in the attic".

🤣 That they are!

I love you and the squirrels. They would be right at home today with all the nuts in the house.

How do they look and where do they penetrate?

It's the spam in General Forum... usually 'Free Starter' Accounts

Veterans are doing it too.

I've also noticed - ugh, it's so tiresome!

My 'Report Spam' finger is sore! LOL

*** agree, Shaunna -- they're kinda like 'speed bumps' ***

*** smack, bam, boom! ... bots be gone! .... ***

or as Jay says "whoosh!" .... lol ... :)

It's like they're breeding! LOL

*** ya -- maybe somebody's idea of a lab rat experiment! .. ***

(excuse -- from my scientific daze ... lol ... )

Jusst curious if OEC Starter has changed. How far can a Starter go now in the Training?

hey hi Shaunna --- it's all good!

the last time we all checked --- free starters get the first 10 lessons of both OEC and Bootcamp -- Level 1 = 20 lessons in total....

so hopefully that remains the same -- and here's Kyle's post on WA Premium ... still valid as far as we can tell ... :) uhm -- just re-checked the post and re: bootcamp doesn't seem to be mentioned -- well, suggest have the starter try it anyway and see if they can access it -- it may just be a silent perquisite?! ...

Yep still level 1 i dont think there is any plans on changing that

Hey Shauna,
It's still Level 1 of the OEC that's available for Starter Members...need to be a Premium member for the rest of the levels.
Hope that helps...
Best wishes :) ~Sherry

Thanks Sherry!
I guess I upgraded so fast that I forgot...OOPS

When switching to thrive, how easy is it to use? Also, how easy is it to place existing Content into the theme?
Shaunna

Hi Shaunna - I bought the whole package on recommendation. I knew exactly what I wanted my site to look like but standard themes just didn't go it.

I know it's incredibly well thought-of and lots of people use it.

However, it was probably me, but I really struggled to get to grips with it. I'm talking weeks. There are tons of videos but most of the 'getting started' ones use an earlier version which I found confusing.

I still haven't discovered how to create a home page with a sidebar.
That's actually what I was trying to create. I ended up using one of their stock themes – which are few but excellent - and modifying it as best I could. I paid someone on Fiverr $20 to add a couple of cs tweaks.

However, Thrive majors on getting leads, building landing pages and so on and if that's what you're after, check it out to see what it offers. As I said, I have the full pack so I'm not sure what's included just with Architect. The extras are brilliant – but only if you need them.

Support is good although they typically take a day to reply.

As for placing existing content into a theme-designed page, in the WP Dashboard, each post will have the option to be edited in WP or Thrive. If you created in WP and edit in Thrive, the content will appear in a WP box for editing and you'll be limited in what you can do unless you take it 'out of the WP box' and edit it fully in Thrive.

However, if you're happy with your existing posts, there's no need to edit them in Thrive.

Although I designed my site with Thrive I edit everything in WP.

Hope that helps.

Ian

(In other words, have edited Copies)! You are so BRAVE!

Shaunna,

I have Thrive Architect (one time $69.00 payment) for one of my websites, however, I have used it much, albeit it is well recommended over Elementor.

I can recommend that you watch some of Jason Whaling's videos in which he is using Thrive Architect, I will try to dig some of them or you can search in YouTube, his videos are loaded up with free actionable advice, step by step instructions and resources.

Blessings!

That would be AMAZING Gabriel!!
Thank You!

I use Thrive and prefer it over Divi, which I've used extensively in the past as well. Honestly, the only thing that I don't like about Thrive Themes is the higher cost (than Divi). I find they offer a complete solution to pretty much everything you need for your site, and the support I've received as a Thrive member is excellent. Marion has you covered with her answer below on how the content is moved over.

Thank You!
I agree the cost is what holds me back a bit...

Shaunna, it did me too. But, a funny story.....I used Divi quite some time ago, then decided to change to Thrive Themes somewhere along the line. I switched for awhile and after the first year of using them I started to re-evaluate the cost of both...and decided I would go back to Divi to save the money. I did that, and within just a few months or so, I ditched Divi for good...paid the money and went back to Thrive Themes....for good LOL! Thrive was just the better solution for me and I finally realized that it was worth a little extra $$ to make sure my sites were optimized correctly and working properly.

You make an AWESOME case for Thrive!
I think I may just check it out, based on that alone...LOL

Hi Shaunna,

I like the numbers Dave is shooting at you. He is making me think.

It is early for me, I am sure you will get a lot more answers.

I just became best friends with Dave.

All the best,

Michael

I do like Divi, I'm thinking the struggle might be self-induced!

Hey Shaunna,

The only extra information that I can add to this conversation is this... once you install your Thrive Theme (should you decide to purchase one) do NOT remove your plugins until you find and setup the areas within your Thrive Theme that replaces the necessity of each one.

Personally, I was able to remove about 10 different plugins... but I did that over about a month's time (due to other responsibilities, of course).

Once the setup to my Thrive Theme was completed, I LOVE my sites as they are now FULLY optimized.

Having said that... I THINK I have found another developer who creates awesome themes that do NOT require a pagebuilder (a BIG plus for me!) and they claim this theme is fully optimized.

Once completed, I will test the site for how well it performs and am planning on writing a post about their themes regarding my experience.

Going forward... I just may have another developer to turn to rather than Thrive which requires their customers to pay on a monthly basis to now have access to their themes. I am not a fan of monthly payments.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thank You Trish!
This was indeed helpful!
Shaunna

I have just switched from Thrive Membership to Divi Builder and did so because of pricing and ease of use, I found it better than Thrive

I'm using Divi now, but I am struggling with it for some reason.
So many choices...LOL

Personally I'd stay with Divi bearing in mind they had others follow them as I have learned and have an awesome affiliate venture which has paid out $3,000,000 in commission

I'm just building two clients sites using it and it's way easier than Thrive in my opinion

Plus it is easy to hook up to your list using bloom and social share with Monarch

I used Divi previously and am glad I returned

I will stick with Divi as well, as I have paid for it...
It's become a Love/Unlove thing LOL

I see why, but the support and tutorials are very useful and it makes building a blog in line with our training so easy

Not to. Mention Woo commerce as well

If it helps further I have looked at tons of membership plugins, used around 4 including Divi and subsequently stopped using 3 others bex of Divi

I did not find it difficult to learn. I like the flexibility the Thrive themes provide in designing the look of my sites.

Like Marion said existing content is put into a WP content block.

Thrive themes also puts WA SiteContent published posts/pages into a WP content block. I just cut and paste it into a Thrive themes text box and then start editing/formating it to look the way I want it.

Thrive seems to be a better option than the one I'm using right now.
I'm finding the builder I'm using is...'bulky'... hard to work with, yet I do like it. (It's similar, yet less responsive from what I can tell, and harder to create with).
Thanks for your opinion!

I have Thrive Themes Membership which includes all Thrive themes and plugins. Thrive Architect is great, I'm still learning how to use it to its full extent but so far I love it. It converts existing content into a "WordPress content" block but you may need to copy and paste old content to edit it more easily.

Thank You, Marion!
I'm drawn to it after watching the Architect video, so I think I will give it a whirl!

Please use my affiliate link https://marionblackonline.com/visit-thrive-themes

It is very easy to use once you know your way around. I've been using it for about 3 months now and wouldn't want to try any other site builder. As for existing content, that is not quite so easy. it can be done but you have to replace all the content into the TT platform, I copy and paste but it does take a little time

Thank You for this!!
Copy and Paste I can do! LOL
The Theme I'm using has a similar builder, but more complicated than I care to fight with anymore!

You'll love it Shaunna, as I say once you know you're way around it does virtually anything you want and the support team are brilliant.

Is paying for the upgrade in Grammarly worth it?
I am currently using the free version, but I am curious about upgrading.
Thoughts?

At first, I didn't think Grammarly paid version was worth the price but, after upgrading, I have found that my thoughts have changed.

I have been using Grammarly paid version for a while and in my opinion, yes it is well worth it. The plagiarism checker and suggestions come in handy.

It's a big life saver to me and not only that Grammarly paid version has since sped up my content writing. So, I would yes they are worth it.

AWESOME Lakisha!
So far the big answer is a strong yes!!

I am just using the free version and love it! I have not really seen a need to upgrade to the paid version.

Let me know if you decide to do that and if you think it's worth it.

Donna😃

I've been using the free version as well... I'll let you know!
So far there's been a huge YES vote!

Ok, Thanks and have a great weekend!

Sorry, still got nothing, I'll be good from now on. For the record,I thought Diane's comment was 'On the money.'

🤣 LSHMSFOAIDMT!!!

Laughing So Hard My Sombrero Fell Off and I Dropped My Taco!

Yes, the premium has more features. It has been definetly worth it! To help me with my editing

Awesome Tip!! That's 3 hard yeses!!

I use PaperRater. The free version is efficient enough.

Interesting... that's one I haven't heard of yet. Thank You for the suggestion!

It is funny that you ask this question because I am writing about Grammarly right now. I have had the Premium version for over a year and absolutely love it! The free version is excellent, but with Premium, so many more variables are covered.

I am a bit dyslexic, so you would not believe how many errors I end up making. It is so satisfying correcting all of my writing mistakes. Once you try a free trial, you will be sent a special promotional price for a yearly membership. The set price is $29.95 a month, but I got a deal at $11.66 a month or $139.95 for a year.

I am very cheap, so as a rule, I do not like to spend money if I do not have to, but I am so happy that I have the help of Grammarly. For instance, in SIte Content, I had about 20 errors fixed. But when I transferred the post over to Wordpress to continue editing, I had 66 more errors to fix!

Thank You, Colleen!
Between you and Diane, I may just take the plunge!

Hi Shaunna - as a professional writer and proofreader, I use the premium version of Grammarly. It costs $59.95 per quarter. The main benefit to me is that it has an excellent plagiarism checker, detailing the exact percentage of copied material, and the website it came from.

As regards writing, you can swap between different styles such as academic, business, creative, casual etc.

Premium grammar checks include word choice, passive voice misuse, punctuation in compound sentences, wordy sentences, inconsistent capitalisation, incorrect antecedent etc.

I personally feel its worth every penny, and I use it all day, every day! However, for a more casual writer who sticks consistently to the same style and doesn't write complex material, it may not be necessary.

Thank You so much for the advice Diane!!
( I was hoping you would jump in as I am somewhat familiar with your background)!

I have been using the Free version for about 3 months and love it. It seems to do all I need to do along with the Free Hemingway.
The only place that Grammarly does not work for me is when I am writing a Post in Site Content.

Thank You Sonny!!. I'm off to check out Hemmingway as well!
