Lost Voice

I once had a voice, with a very different sound to the one I seem to have today.

Where did it go? I'm on a journey to find it again. This voice was joyful and bubbly, full of laughter... I miss it.

Knowing where it was lost doesn't help, nor does knowing how it was lost. The fact that it is missing is the problem.

The current goal is to find that voice and use it again—this time without fear that someone may become offended by it. See, someone long ago became very offended by it.

This vocal sound had a positive vibe. It expresses an open, happy heart, and true to who I was, and still am.

But it got shut down, tuned out if you will. One person was all it took to quiet the vibration. A few words, over time, silenced it.

The Free Flow here seems a tad depressing... here's the Reader's Digest Version of what I'm saying:

My former business partner once told me I was too cheerful, and that it was getting on everybody's nerves. So, I toned it down.

Lesson? If you don't use it, you lose it. I forgot that voice because I chose to tone it down.

So, where am I finding this voice again? Right here. My Therapists here are many, but I am grateful to all of them. The list is enormous really, but here are a few that stand out for me:

Tiffany, or TDomena - this lady has been through all lot over the last few years, and yet still keeps going! (Successfully, might I add)! If you get a chance, watch her training videos!

HeidiAnders3, aka Heidi - a cheerful, happy voice in the land of WA! Her sound resonates with my true self. Quirky, joy-filled, and honest.

Twack, aka... Twack - the sound of Brain Yoga!! Every post stretches my brain and makes me think, laugh, and want to tap back into my cranium for the fun-filled, yet thoughtful processes of the great Think Tank!

JefferyBrown, or Jeff and the Blog Dogs - I once thought I was weird because I have a Blog Dog. When TaisyMae is in the office, I am calm, and my computer is no longer in danger of flying out the window.

There are so many others, but by the time I am done listing all of you, I would have a book of THANK YOU, YOU'RE AWESOME!!

Hi Shaunna, I would love to hear your voice ring out loud and strong with confidence.

How can someone be too cheerful, perhaps your former business partner may have been envious of your great attitude.

Tiffany, Heidi, Twack and Jeff, just to mention a few, are great sources of inspirational people here.

Best wishes,
Michael

The choice is, Liam or Gene. I mean, liam's a talent for sure but Gene, well he is just Mr.Rock and Roll.

Thank you for the shout out as well. Anyway, I've heard that the acoustics here at 'WA Symphony Hall' are quite good, so when you're ready. 🔊

I trust you will find that voice Shaunna as it is yours, belongs to you and is you!! Your partner needed their heads testing for asking you to dump it as it sounded lovely certainly more lovely than your partners voice....!! lols Furthermore It should encourage you as imagine if you use it to become famous!! that would be a turn up for the books...Ha ha

Have a great day!!

Thanks, Rami!
What I'm enjoying most is 'trying on' different voices! LOL

Your very welcome...That will work too!! a new much improved voice...the old with a new and something blue is that not what new brides are told before marriage vows...lol its a new journey so finding the old and incorporating with the strengthened new, sounds like just the right mix to me!! ;)

Its sad that it happened to you,. Some people are not happy unless they are complaining and making everyone miserable. (sounds like your old partner)
I too toned down the real me in the real world due to constant daily criticism. I even got frowned at if I laughed in public or just at a get together of family and friends. No more.
I am glad you are regaining the real you Shaunna it makes life much more fun and very enjoyable.

Thank You, Linda.

Finding one's voice again is kind of fun!! I get to try new voices as well! LOL

I can kinda relate. I can't attribute the times I've "lost my voice" to anyone except maybe, myself.

For whatever reason, my activity here at WA dwindled down to almost nothing and I didn't feel any real motivation to change that. I guess it was some little voice in my head or maybe one from the army of squirrels that live in my yard spoke to me.
(And before you have me put away so I'm not posing a threat to myself or others, you too have a 'squirrel counsel' if I remember from a previous post, right?).

In any event, since returning to WA I have developed a renewed motivation and look forward to reading the many blog posts each day.

You keep doing the same! The people you mentioned above (and more) will help you get back your voice!

Susan

Thank you, Susan.
A Squirrel Counsel is handy to have, as well as the many other voices in my head... so I won't be turning you in as a potential nut job...LOL.

Besides the more nuts, the better!
