Is there such a thing as setting your sights too high?

Today I was working on the new course plan, and I had a panic attack!

The original plan was to record the courses, and let fly. This became an issue for me. See, I was talking 'at' the student(s), not 'with' the student(s).

For months I have been trying to perfect this or get it within a reasonable distance of perfect.

I woke up one day this week and thought... "Wait a minute! I can take the course LIVE, for now, and then worry about recorded versions later!" (Who doesn't love a good ZOOM meeting?).

Now things are moving fast; I'm getting it all put together, I have a launch date and a price. GREAT!! A limited number of participants, a reasonable price point, and four dates/time selections! Can we all say Happy Camper?!

After running into a few minor snags with this idea, it all starts to come together... at 1:00 AM no less! I then did that thing I wasn't going to do. I added up the potential income.

Holy $h... Doodles! (Yes, I said Doodles...LOL. My sailor self had a moment). The potential earnings have thrown me into a spin! The panic attack takes hold.

I'm writing this to ease the attack. The thought that a New Venture could be as successful, or even more so than my last one, was overwhelming! Did I set my sights too high? Should I back down? What if this doesn't work?

WHAT IF IT DOES???

These are the thoughts that usually call Procrastination Squirrel in. But since I have relieved him of his duties, I now must find Confidence Squirrel, and maybe Nike Squirrel... JUST DO IT...

If you should see my Squirrels, please let them know I'm ready for them to come home!

Thanks

Your work has a value and you have done everything to make things great. Now the next step is always the hardest, launching is a very emotional moment that we have to learn to handle. Once we get started, we are often relieved that we did and often we want more. It is only the first step that costs after that it will become a routine for you and you will do a great job. I am sure of it.

Thank You, Ingrid!
Launching certainly does bring up a whole host of emotions!

It looks like you have everything under your wings. It's time to fly!

I must say sometimes, I feel the butterflies with my ideas and scared at the potential income stream I can create but without actually doing it, it remains a dream.

All the best for your zoom live. I hope you get all you wish for from it.

Thank You Bolupe!!

There are so many 'quotes' that we could throw into this but the truth of it all is, that at some point you have to believe that you have put together something of value and that it is worth the price.

It's not even about the hours, weeks and months of time and effort you have put in.

It's about over a quarter of a century of experience.

T,
I must ask... have you been talking to Mule? He said the same thing!! LOL
Thank You for the Confidence Squirrel!!

You're welcome. It's always easier looking in from the outside.

Some days it can feel like we have bitten off more than we can chew.
I guess we only find out by diving in. You will do fine, Shaunna.

Good to see you.
Alex

Thanks, Alex!!
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one in this boat!
