If your home page is your blogroll (which it should be) then you need to add featured images to your posts. Look down the bottom right-hand corner when you're in edit mode.

Marion is right as always Cori. Most themes have your front page default to your blogroll.
You can if you choose to make your front page a static page. Then you can add images as you wish. If you do this you can create a Blog page and make it your blog roll.
If I have you completely confused holler back.

I completed my About Me section and Updated it. Then, I went to my browser to see how it looks to the outside world and at the bottom of the About Me page, the EDIT button app
When you're visiting your website from the same browser as the one in which you work within for WordPress, you are being recognized as an editor/admin so it's showing you the Edit link. The general public wouldn't see that link.
To verify, use a different browser (e.g. if you used Internet Explorer to write the post, then use Chrome to view it). Or, visit the post from a different PC/tablet that you've not used for editing.

Dave! You were absolutely correct. It does not appear when I open my website from a different browser than the one I use to create/manage websites. Thank you so much!

You definitely want to spend some time looking through the themes to find one that suits you. I use the Iconic One theme. It has a clean look, it's easy to use and I haven't had any speed issues with it.

Laura. Thank you so muchfor your helpful info and prompt reply, as I am wanting to create. Best to you and hope all is going great.

You can more easily change the theme after logging into you wordpress dashboard (By clicking Site Rubix -> Site Manager and logging in). From there you can go to Appearance -> Themes and press Add New. Then you can search for themes by keyword. If I had to do it over again, I would chose a theme that is advertised as being fast. You can use fast as a keyword and search all the available themes.
Enjoy! WA is awesome
