I went to check my website traffic today and this is what I found.

<=====That's how my digital highways look! Bare, empty, with no significant traffic at all. 14 clicks with an avg position of 28 is awful,before i do my best to explain the cause of the slack in my numbers I'll share with you what made me decide to check my website traffic.

A few days ago in Live chat a queestion was asked "how do we know where our pages rank in google?" it was a great question to ask and i know i've had the same question when i first began so other members and i answered the question.

This sparked the interest for me to check mines because i hadn't done so in a long time. Upon signing in I found that i have a sluggish pipeline to internet traffic, and i'm going to share with you the 3 factors that are accredited to this catastrophe.

Skipping class
Weak content creation

After explaining these issues I hope this will reach the reader who may be in the same arena with low traffic production as I am.

What do the Bots see?

Yes, the bots! those are the little signals Search engines send out to look for content that will best serve the query of searches placed by humans.So what exactly are these bots looking for?

CONSISTENCY in content for starters, and that means picking a time to post and sticking to it no matter what!

Now i am using AIO seo plugin so I can open up my sitemap xml settings and set a crawl schedule

If anyone else know of a different way to set a crawl schedule please be kind enough to share below. The more knowledge the better!

With a monthly crawl schedule I need to make sure I have FRESH content every month. Or else my site will be viewed as stale, and get buried deep into the index.

Are you going to be there when you say you are? It's like an actual storefront, if you post your hours opening at 10am and closing at 6pm be sure to be open at 10 and not closed at 3!

With this practice any business will not be in business for too long so keep that in mind. Create a realistic schedule and abide by it. One quality post per month beats 12 monthly irrelevant rushed pieces of material anyday. Produce Quality work over a Quanity of work and find favor with the bots that be!

Thisis just a minor but key factor in traffic so let's keep reading to discover what else we could be doing wrong.

In fact absence can make the brain draw a blank! This is simple and won't take long to explain at all!

What are you posting?

Are you creating anything of value or are you just talking? In the beginning kyle stresses to just pump out content as you aren't great writers yet, and google likes to see fresh material, so stick to your niche and begin sharing why your audience should follow you.

Are you solving problems? Do you have a service that's needed? Are you entertaining? Why should your audience tune in? Write naturally, and soon enough your audience will appear.

What i'm going to do now is post the results of my traffic check .

The image above is a glance of my performance the last 12 months. I can tell you a year ago I wish posting regularly, and often in classrooms asking questions. As you can see I was getting clicks in fact the bulk of these clicks came from the article that is now on the first page when you google how to start barber school. The target KWP for that article was starting barber school, and as you can see I recieved a number of clicks. Now as i come closer in with my filter I will notice where my drop off happened.

The next search was at 6 months in and there was drop off of 127 click with

majority of my clicks still remaining from 5 things you should know before starting barber school.

I noticed I was getting clicks from the KWs barber school, and starting a barberschool.

So now my clicks are down by 125+ but more importantly was my page position. Notice it is16 about a year ago! Well now it bumped up a whole page to 15.The goal is to get positon on page one for maximim exposure so all though my clicks re down my rank is rising. To make things clear this is where i began to slack off in production, and not really going to class. I had enough content to gain traction but I realized although the value of my work was good it was my presentation that was awful.

The only article that made sense to the search queries was starting barber school. The rest of my keywords were hidden in titles that NO ONE was searching. The next couple of months I was producing work that could not get found based on the ceativity.

Fast forwarding to 3 months ago and my pages bumped all the way to an average of 32 in google page positon.And it mainly had to do with inconsistent posting and posting that had hidden keywords that may have been great in jaaxy but buried in content no one was searching for.

Going back to the classroom i realized i was constucting titles that wouldn't yield results. Sure they were great in competition, and worthy of traffic but no one is searching for "what are you doing to set yourself apart" They would likely be searching for How can i set myself apart, and to go further how can i set myself apart in the barber shop?

This is more likely to be searched which would put me in better position for rank. All of the articles i created were pretty good, and even some catchy titles so now I have the beef to be considered a site with age, and some content. Now My focus should be to get more strategic in my Keyword placement to begin getting some first page appearances.

The results are clear that the page that hits first page will bring you traffic. Google how to start barber school and there i will be about 7 articles in.

It's clear that the classroom helped me realize what i was doing wrong so I will always sign in to my wealthy affiliate and pick what i want to learn and then go do it! One of my first quarter goals was to strengthen my site SEO, and it looks like I have found my issues thanks to ccess to the tutorials and webinars that are created for us to use here at Wealthy Affiliate.

So USE THEM!!

The mistakes have been recognized so it's time now to get into a campaign of better structured content that makes sense, and easy to be found by the search engines.

In closing

Inconsistent work will result in little results in getting any type of traffic. Think about it... Search engines provide information to assist humans who may be in need of helpful information. We are the cooks and Search engines are the servers.

If we tell the server to come around every day for dinner to give the people what are we serving? Is it a fresh piece of meat (content) that was cooked this afternoon or is the meat from 2 days ago?

You may get away with ledtovers the second day but a 3rd and 4th will result in "let's just skip this cook" LOL

Keep the meat fresh, and once the meat is fresh work on the plating. Does the steak(keywords) shine through or is it hidden underneath cabbage and beets (a non-searched title)

Structure your keywords in your article that will give it the best chance to reach the top! Get creative, and really think what will the searcher search..

Stick to a consistent schedule of production, and write a valuable piece of work that is helpful to your audience. Try this for 90 days straight and check and see what's happening with your traffic.

Before I go i want to share that upon sigining in my search console i found a warning that my site wasnt verified and my stats may have been affected. I turned it back on, and came back in 7 days to find these results.

Up 3 pages from 28 days ago, but still four pages higher than 90 days ago.

Looking back on what i've found in check my site traffic i would have to add that I found a lifeline in a time when I needed it the most with the great training that is supplied by y community of neighbors that are here to help you find success.

It's a beautiful thing to be able to not only learn something new, but seeing results from the information that you have aquired, and put to use.

Now that I am that much closer to completing one of my first quarter goals I feel confident to begin planning out the next quarter of the year!

I hope this was a help to anyone who may not be seeing the traffic they want. Practice consistent creation, use your classrooms when needed, and properly place yur keywords to give yourself the best chance to access traffic of potential buyers.
