Upon completing my lesson 9 training, I realized that I could hardly find the five keywords relating to my niche that meet the recommended criteria. For instance, AVG. was
Hi - do be aware that eventually, you will be expected to find hundreds of keywords relating to your niche. If you are already struggling to find the first five, it may well be that your niche is too narrow, or perhaps you don't know enough about it to do the necessary research.
Take some time to use the services that Chrystopher suggested, and if you are still having no luck, perhaps consider choosing a different niche.
Hi, avg less than 10 means less than 10 people searching and therefore not worth your effort writing a post about it.
It should always be grammatically correct.
Quoted search results (QSR) or competition rather less than 100 lesser better.
Jaaxy Metrics
Look for searches (avg.) above 30 and competition (qsr. ) lower than 100, the lower the qsr the better. For starter sites SEO greater than 95

I got that part. Does this mean the niche is to be changed if those are the results showing up; or results from very few keywords with full criteria?
No niche doesn't have to be changed no. See Chrystopher comment above couple of links how to go about finding keywords.
You could do the Jaaxy alphabet soup, google alphabet soup. Another quick way to get keyword ideas only is use ahrefs.com keyword-generator. This will bring up a lot of keywords quickly that you can try in Jaaxy because you just may need some new ideas to try. Often it is hard to think of other ways to find additional keywords If those tools show now promise then, yes it may be a good idea to change your niche.

You might want to consider broadening your niche as it might be too narrow. There's no point in targeting keywords and phrases that no one is searching for.
