Where is the math genius himself when I need to ask a question?
So quesion for the community, for all of you math wizzards out here. I am having a math related problem but I think I might have found out the answer. This is tied to one of my key words.
I have in my hand a bag of coffee beans. Covered in chocolate. The weight of the bag is 50 grams. I want to know how many pieces are inside of the small bag?
So, I asked google how much does this single particular coffee bean weighs? Google told me 0.1325 grams or 0.0046738 ounces. ( I do not have enough coffee for this)
Anyway. So, I did some math. (Well I asked google again. didnt get the best answer but close enough. ) In this particular coffee bag 10 grams of coffee is equal to 76 beans. It is not the brand that I am looking to measure out. but I am using it as a template to help me figure out how to find the amount of beans that are inside of my little bag that weighs 50 grams.
I need to know this, if my little bag of coffee beans weigh 50 grams each of those coffee beans weighs 0.1325 grams, how many coffee beans do I have inside my little bag? i did some math and I came out with 6 beans and looking at this bag that I have eaten majority of, I count out 15 chocolate covered beans left in the bag. I assume that I must factored in the weight of the chocolate that cover the beans as well. I guest. I have no idea. Can any one help me out here. lol ๐
Starbucks wont tell me how many beans are inside the little bag and I could not help but to gorge myself on some of those sweet caffein beans. It did not dawm on me that I would need to figure out their weight later. So here I am asking.

If you have 50g of beans and each bean weighs 0.1325g then you need to divide 50 by 0.1325 which equals 377.36 (rounded up to 2 decimal places.
However, in another paragraph, you mentioned that 10grams of coffee is equal to 76 beans. If you are using this data instead, then if 10 g = 76 beans, then 50 grams would be equal to 5 x 76 beans, which would be 380! So a good estimate of the number of beans would be about 377 - 380 per bag.
You don't have any data about the weight of the chocolate surrounding the beans so you can't factor that in, apart from to say that there are probably less beans than you originally calculated because some of the weight would be taken up by the chocolate.
Alternatively, buy another bag and count them out first, then eat them later!!
Thanks for the fun challenge.
Gail
Correct I was using the second paragraph answers from google as a guide to figure out mines. I did the math again and got 38 pieces but I wasnโt sure if it was right. Ms. Brenda actually helped me out there with her friends bag that was 40 grams but only had 28 pieces. My bag is 50grams. Just add ten more grams gave me 38. But the math I did similar to what you advise from the 380 gave me 38 pieces as well. Thanks again too! ๐๐๐พ
๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ You know my psyche class teaches this too?! โObservation.โ I did not observe nor counted up the beans I just ate them. Lol ๐
Hi Ms. Kida, I am no math expert, but a friend of mine had something similar I understand she had a 40-gram bag of dark chocolate coffee beans which amounts to 28 pieces for one serving. If it's 50 grams, it will be more than just six beans in 1 serving. Then I would do simple math and add ten, making it 38 beans at 1 serving. I could be wrong with the math. Just using my common sense thinking.
The exact answer I got the second time I did the math!!! Thanks Ms. Brenda!! Because my first answer was 6 beans and I figured that was wrong lol ๐
Let me show you the screenshot my best friend Crystal from Canada (I am in the USA) sent me a text I asked her on FaceTime. I know she loves eating dark chocolate coffee beans. She showed me her bag. I asked her to read it then she sent me a text screenshot to my iPhone. I am glad to help. The thanks should go to my best friend, Crystal. She loves eating those. I asked her if it is good, and she said yep, delicious. I am not a fan of coffee or any chocolate. I am mostly a tea drinker. Here is the screenshot that's for a 40-gram bag.
Ms.Kida, by not telling consumers, is against the law. They must show proper labeling. You can even voice your complaints to the consumer watchdog agency packaging must follow the appropriate labeling that specifies the number of beans per serving. The Federal Trade Commission, all packing must follow this act: "Fair Packaging and Labeling Act: Regulations Under Section 4 of the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act." I encourage you to file a report with Federal Trade Commission with that screenshot to them. They will be cited for not complying with the laws. Crystal says you are welcome glad to help out.

Shakira,
How about asking Alexa,
She is a little nerd (lol).
Wish I knew a math genius to help you out. Anyways, your WA community are pretty nerdy too.
What's up with big G?

p.s. Gail and Brenda did great.
See I did that with her older brother google and....google could not answer me. lol
Nice!
