Scammer be ware
I have a supposed friend on Facebook trying to get me to fall for a scam. What the hell kind of friend is this? I just got scammed out of $1700, like I can afford another scam right now!! I need more friends like I have at WA, at least we look out for one another!! We don't want other member to be scammed like we were, with is going through people's minds these days?
I just want to live a normal peaceful life lol.

I too have someone I don't only consider a friend but also my family doing the same thing as your friend.

I just don't understand why they can't get a good job instead of being dishonest. I find it easier to be honest and hard working than to be a dishonest person. But I care about my credibility.

Its one of the reasons I dislike Facebook, because those( and I mean the majority) that use the business side, are in my eyes, poor marketers, who really do need to learn how to attract people then those message you get you wouldn't

I am begining to really not FB these days lol.
I have LinkedIn and YouTube. I am active on LinkedIn, I need to learn more about YouTube. There are some great tutorials here at WA and on YouTube.
I agree with you, FB might have 2 billion users or what ever it is, with 1bn of them having pages, but in my experience, and its only my experience of having dealt with a wide cross section of them, most have absolutely no idea of marketing and thats without doing any FB ads
Linkedin, & YouTube are way, way better and yes there are some great tutorials to be found on here and YT

The days of taking things at face value are long gone, folks can get caught up in situations that are negative so easily online.
We kind of have to manage our online footprint, some folks look for every opportunity to get up to mischief.
I would say it is time to cut your misguided friend adrift.

I am glad you were able to recognize this scam.
I've already got a draft post talking about how some friends really are not friends. They are wolves in sheep's clothing.
And then sometimes, people are so desperate, they fall for anything. Trying to figure out the desperate people from the wolves may be a challenge. Avoiding the scam is a matter of financial survival.
I wish scams were not so common.
About a year ago I got a message on FB from one of my friends. The message was about making money easily. I emailed my friend to ask him what was going on. He was astounded as it wasn’t him. It appears his FB identity was stolen. So he informed all his friends to ignore this kind of message from him.
I am going to email this guy so he knows what's up, his account had to be hacked, he doesn't use Facebook usually.
I’m so sorry this happened to you. I got laid off of my job as a pharmacist in August and then got scammed out of $6000 online in October, before I found Wealthy Affiliate, so I completely understand how you feel. I don’t know how some people can live with themselves doing this to innocent people.
I say expose them and make other people aware. And put the scammers out of business!

Stacie,she's not much of a friend. Money is too hard to come by to be scammed. Wash your hands of her. Over the last five years, I have been scammed out of over $20,000 over this product or this program that didn't amount to anything or any successful business. Just watch out.

Oh he is gone from my friends list, I have known this guy for over 20 years and can hardly believe he did this!!
When it comes to money you can never tell who your friends really are. Stay guarded and watch your wallet.

Hi Stacie,
I recently got a Facebook Messenger friend request that "was not connected to a Facebook account". I accepted it not realizing that I already had a Messenger contact with this person already...so that caused me to have a little concern. Then I started getting PM's asking me if I knew of a grant program that could get me money that was "newly discovered" and earmarked just for me.
I was asked to check into it with a link..it was interesting and I sent the Facebook friend a PM in their "old" messenger account that was connected to her Facebook account...she told me that I was being scammed, which I had already suspected anyway, hence the reason for the PM to her.
I have since unfriended that "new friend". And from now on, if I get a friend request in Facebook Messenger that is "not connected to a Facebook account" I don't accept them.
You can never be too careful when it comes to Facebook.

This same scam came through a guy I have been friends with for about 15 years on FB and personal friends for over 20 years, was super shocked!!
Have not unfriended him yet, but think I am going to have to.
Maybe he just doesn’t know it’s a scam he is passing on to you. I would double check it like I did in my comment.
Lots of people don’t know scams from the real thing. I have since learned by being here.
It’s not a targeted training here, but we are being taught the information about how to build proper websites. Because of that training, we learn how to recognize the scams.
Something that most people don’t have the benefit of learning.

I will take screens hots from all contact from him in messenger and fromm whomever it was that was texting me as well, and post them in a response to you 🤗
When he blocked me on messenger his side of the conversation was gone too, so I didn't take the screenshots. My responses only did not make much sense.

Thanks Stacie. I guess the downside of social media is that it often has an ugly side. But that is true with life, I got scammed out of $1500.00 last year and for a long time I beat myself up over that. You have to move on and let it go, one day they will meet justice. You do have to be careful (wise). Hope all the best for you in the future.
I beat myself up over the $1700, that was a tough one right before Christmas too. Glad I saw so many red flags with this one. They kept asking for my FB password, that was the biggest red flag.
