My Dinosaur is Getting Old I Am Getting A New Computer On Tuesday
I have been working on two very old PCs to create my website for the past 6 months. One of them is almost 15 years old, the one I am using for this blog. And the other is about 10-12 years old. Needless to say, they move slower than a Sea Turtle on land.
My new computer will arrive on Tuesday and I couldn't be happier or more excited. I have a tablet and a Samsung S6, but when adding images with those it is much trickier.
Between the slow moving PCs and the trickery involved in creating blogs on the other devices, I have not created as much new content for my website as I would normally have, even being busy at work and getting a promotion that takes more of my blogging time.
I dread the long load times just for my Search Engine to load, it sometimes takes 5-7 minutes to just get my Google home page up, talk about frustration.
I am very eagerly awaiting Tuesday evening when my new PC arrives. The anticipation is equal to that of a child awaiting Christmas morning.
I almost didn't order my PC, but then as I swept my floors and straightened up my counter while waiting for my computer to be ready to work on, I realized something. I not only get an interruption in creativity flow, but I also lose my ambition to work on my site. This is not helping with my success at all.
So I took part of my tax return and bought my new PC. You have to spend money to make money, and I feel that this is money well spent.
Just like my membership fees for Wealthy Affiliate, money VERY well spent.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog, have a great weekend everyone.

Congratulations on your upgrade Stacie, you won’t be sorry and you’ll be amazed at the increase in productivity…
I work in IT. I can't imagine using a machine that old to work on. You have patience that far exceeds my own. Congrats on the new machine. Pump that content out when it arrives!
The anticipation is killing me lol, I remember how fast this one was when it was new and back then the speed of internet was slower, so this new one will probably blow me away.
Once you receive that new computer, you'll see such difference that you'll wonder, "Wow! How the heck did I get anything done before now?"....LOL!
Enjoy your new computer!

It is not a super fancy one, its the new HP Simline Desktop 290 p0035qd.
I ordered from HP, the only place I have in town to buy a computer is Wal Mart, and I didn't want one from there again.
Like Robert says, you need to keep it clean. I use System Mechanic. Not free, but very effective.
I will definitely be checking into these services. He has some free ones that he uses too, and with my finances, free is a great price range to start with, if I need more effective cleaning, I will check into paid services later for sure.
The computer I use most of the time is 10 years old and I have it set up to run like a dream.
You must have so much crap that has built up over the years Stacie.
I run my PC Cleaner every time I switch it on to get rid of any crap.
Perhaps you should have been doing the same thing.
Make sure you install a good cleaner on your new one.
There are several free ones available such as CCleaner and HardDrive Powerwash.
Enjoy your Saturday.
Robert
I am not a tech savvy person at all, that is for sure.
I will take your advice as well, will these clean up my already overloaded units. I ask because these are actually really nice computers as far as the unit itself, they are just slow.
Thanks for responding with a learning scale, I love to learn new things, I try to learn something new everyday.
Stacie
Here is the link to the Cleaner and the free version will do all thats required.
https://www.ccleaner.com/
Here's the link for the Powerwash, its a free program as well.
https://hard-drive-powerwash.en.softonic.com/download
The image I've attached is of my settings for the CCleaner.
Tick all the boxes as I have except the ones I have left blank.
With the powerwash one you just let it do its thing.
You will be surprised at what a difference it makes.
