My guess would be how you are targeting. People who are in the MMO niche, or at least browsing it, will be mostly "get rich quick" searchers. This means they won't convert so well if at all.

This will definitely be the case for most FB referrals as they generally come from MMO groups which are full of spammy "make money today" type crap. Unfortunately this alters peoples perception. Such a shame!

I always got better quality referrals when I personally engaged with them. Built that relationship. I do this either on my blog or on my social media channels, or through email. This way you can qualify whether you can work with them or whether they suit WA.

Also, publishing helpful, value based posts on your blog is a great way to build trust in you. I would publish posts about everything from buying a domain right through to publishing posts. Pretty much everything that is taught in the first 10 lessons.

This way when your readers see how much you deliver for free, the moment you recommend a program, like WA, they will know it's legit and you have essentially given them a kick start in the initial trial. This will build their confidence which is important when starting out.

Another thing to keep in mind that when one receives free gifts, free anything really we feel obliged to give something in return. If what you want in return happens to be a sign up, and they can see the value in the system and connecting with you, beautiful things can happen.

i know WA offers a free trial but that's WA. WA does not have the same level of trust that you do with your readers. Well not initially. It's you they are following so it's you who must lead them.

Just my thoughts. I don't have many referrals but my conversion rates and stickability is high.

This is very useful advice. Thank you so much. I'd prefer few referrals and high stickability rather than high referrals and low conversions any day so your advice has helped me.

I want to improve on all the points you raised. You are right there - its how i target. I think when i say in my promo text thats its free, people probably get the impression they can make money for free without any kind of real investment on their part. I need to rethink and revise my promo texts as well as start to really create more helpful content and build that relationship.

Cheers!

You are not alone here. Over the last few months I have had the exact same problem, except all my traffic is from organic search. Most of my links refer to my WA review and not just straight to WA. Maybe its a bad time of year?. People afraid to spend a little perhaps.

Probably Josh. Hope things get better for you and all of us here as we try out different strategies that actually produce more conversions. Cheers.

I've been thinking about this and thinking of putting a strategy in place to increase conversions. If I get it right, I'll be sure to let you all know. :)

Yes please do Lauren :)

Unfortunately, I have the same problem, lots of sign ups and lots of people who do not even bother to fill in their profiles. I do not advertise via FB groups. My traffic comes from my shared posts only.

Yes. A lot of the people I referred have not completed their account setup and I started thinking...that these people are probably not serious...or probably can't afford to upgrade....or maybe are just in search of a get rich quick scheme and fail to see the golden opportunity that is WA :( Grr.

When they don't fill in their profile, they probably do not even bother to look around too Serah, so they even do not know WHAT they are missing out on

I've noticed that the referrals I've been getting the last few months haven't been converting very well either. The percentage upgrading to Premium is way lower than what it used to be for some reason.

I know, same here. Thought that I should pick the brains of the WA members to see how i can improve conversion rates.

Reading through the comments here it sounds like everyone is experiencing the same low conversion rate at the moment. Let's hope it turns around soon.

Thanks Michael, I'm having a look at it now! Cheers.

I'm having the same problem--lots of signups, no conversions. I think I'm getting a lot of lookiloos. If anyone has any ideas on how to change that, let us all know.

Before I sign up I just wanted to clarify how I get the referals besides FB

Hi, you could get referrals by promoting WA on a number online platforms and social media sites like twitter, instagram etc. Im no expert at this. So i suggest you do a search of WA resources using the search bar. You will definitely find more training on this. I have only done promoting on FB so i would not know about how the others really work - havent tried them out yet. Cheers!

Hi, you can take the free training as a starter member and see if building websites is something you want to do, that is actually where people have to build up first, then social media, is the impression I got. See the bootcamp course. And check out some of the successful people here to see what they are doing. It takes time and work, which is fine if you enjoy it.

Hi, I have low conversion but I guess I know why. It's probably relevance.

WA will convert better if you target people already interested in investing money in an online marketing training.

So, if you promote to broad groups like "make money online", its understandable that your conversion is low. But you can expect higher conversion in groups related to online marketing, content marketing, etc.

Thank you Stefan for your insight. I will definitely try promoting to the more targeted groups. In fact i suspected that this could be one of the reasons. It is quite hard to stand out in a sea of scam/get-rich-quick-overnight schemes type posts in the broader MMO groups. Worth a try :) cheers!

I'm going through the same thing if you are referring to raw clicks on your WA stats. My raw clicks have increased but nobody's signing up.

Yes, i also have many raw clicks and unique clicks as well. But people have actually signed up and have not completed their account setup or not upgraded. And also, I wonder how I can find out where they are in their training. I mean, if they have not set up their accounts, does that mean they have not even started the
Training level 1? Anyway thanks for your comment :)

I've been promoting WA on Facebook groups and got some likes but people don't join =(
I was getting some referrals a few months ago but only 3 upgraded and only stayed one month at WA. I'm wondering why they left, especially one who had already built a website...

Look for the words "This is not a bill." or similar wording. That sentence is always included in the scam emails selling "search engine registration" services. It's a sure sign of a scam. Just delete the email and don't worry about it.

Thank you so much Bob, I checked and there is some line saying "this is not an invoice"...! I'm deleting right away :-) thanks again.

Scammers use that wording to avoid being charged with fraud. While everything about the letter looks like an invoice (and deliberately so), including those words shows that it was your choice to pay for their services.

Sorry I am unable to help you but look forward to seeing an answer.
