I noticed at the Google Search Console that the xml sitemap used is http://myscubadivinggearguide.com. It ought to have the s, right? https. I tried to add that corrected sitemap and I get an error message. At AIO SEO I cannot click to view my sitemap, which includes the https version, and have it load. It will not load in any browser.

I noted previously that with the http version, all my posts were indexed, but some of the various pages at the Google Search Console had no stats. For many months I have used this http version to Fetch as Google every day.

What can I do now? Google said to verify my sitemap when I inquired at the error messages. I do not see how to do it.

Any help? Thanks.

I've recently observed that the frequent loading error of the XML sitemap might be due to technical issues on the part of the plugin installed. Only the help center can help you check this out. Thanks for asking!

It looks like there's something wrong with All In One SEO generating the sitemap. Contact Site Support, they may be able to fix it.

You won't be able to verify the sitemap with Google until it has been generated.

Did you add your site to the Google Search Console as http or https? If it was HTTP, that might be why you can't change it for the sitemap. I had actually added mine with http, https and www so I had 4 entries. I finally removed all but the https and since then have had no issues.

Thanks. I don't remember how I added it. It must have been the http version, I suppose, because that is what was there that I thought I needed to do something about. I guess now I need to ask how to remove the unneeded versions? Sorry, I don't see an obvious way to do it.

If you log into Google Search console you should have an option to add and select different properties. That’s where you handle that.

I just went through the verification process based on some training I found for both google and bing. All finished, I hope.

Thanks a lot for your help and patience. Much appreciated.
