Why is google analytics so confusing?
Ok - another stupid question I imagine - but now I'm frustrated and need help understanding this disaster....
When I go to Google Analytics (GA) - and I'm logged into one of my G+ accounts (and I go to another tab on my computer) and search my keywords I am on the first pages. BUT when I am logged into my other G+ account I don't show up at all on the search pages. THEN when I completely log out of G+ I don't show up on any of the search pages either.
What does my G+ account have to do with searching and the data I get on Analytics? I'm using a completely different tab when I search in Google - I'm SO confused - what exactly is the "world" out there seeing when they search? And, why on Earth do I get such different results?? This data seems to be REALLY messed up!!! How can we tell what is real and what isn't??
I am beginning to think this GA thing is NOT a good thing - but that's because I guess I don't really understand how it works.
I was SO excited about hitting page one of Google Search - but honestly, I don't know that I am. I don't know anything right now about Google Search and GA and how they are linked and why I get such DIFFERENT results when I'm in different accounts or completely logged out all together.
Can someone explain this to me? I'm great reading data (it's what I had to do with my job for 4 years) so it's not the data that is confusing me - it's the WAY the searching is working. I need to know what is real and what isn't!!
If you can help me and it's a long explanation you can PM me or I'll even give you my phone number if it's too much to explain in writing. Just please someone out there explain this to me!!!
