While checking the speed of my site in Page Screen Insights, Google suggests I eliminate render blocking javascript and css in the above the fold content.

What in the world does this mean, and who wants to fix it for me? HA! Any suggestions what I can do?

99% of the time you cannot do anything about this "suggestion" by Google Page Speed insights. Your site needs certain files to load before the content can load, and this is what they are referring to. You can try a few plugins but be careful because plugins that start messing with how your site loads the required files can really mess things up.

Let us know if you find a plugin that works well for this, but proceed with caution by doing some research on the plugin first.

It means the page wont load until those scripts or css are dowloaded.

There's this plugin that can make the site loading better. It optimizes the delivery of scripts and CSS, as Google Insights suggest.
