Hello WA community!

Is it good practice to cloak images that I cite on my blog or is cloaking just for hiding the affiliate id?

Thanks!

I'd only do that on pages where you are seriously promoting something but when you say images you cite, I'm a bit confused by that Thuc. For images, i typically make my own on canva or use screenshots.

Hi Vitaly!

Sorry for the confusion. I understand citing is to protect us from copyright infringement when using other people's work. Does it apply to screenshot we take ourselves?

For example, if I am doing a review on a product and take screenshots of the product's website or within the member's area to provide more detail, do I need to cite the source website?

For certain common creative images, giving credit is not required. Is it still good practice to cite these images anyway?

Thanks for your time!

What I typically do is when I take screenshots, I'll cut our certain borders to make some letters be cut out and mention that it's a screenshot (in other words, it'll actually look like a screenshot). Other than this, I'll rarely link people to the site I'm taking the screenshot from unless it's a good product I'm reviewing and recommend.

Got it, Vitaliy. How about common creative images? Should I cite all images regardless if it required to or not?

Thanks!

I personally don't do it but I'm not really a legal expert on this, just sharing how I personally do it.

It's very good though that you're focused on building a legitimate business though. This mindset will get you very far :)

HI

My findings whether right or wrong.

If you value your privacy, may be you should but when it comes to Google cloaking images isn't really a fan of that according to this thread
