I'm setting up my SEO and typing in the mega title fields but I do not see a word count or a green or red bar. All there is, is a green check mark with no word count?

Have you published your home page and set the static home page as front page or is your website still set up for blog roll on front page

Are you editing a post that has word content in it?

No just typing in and following along with Keith's video on homepage settings. His video has the words he typed in and a green line with the word count

You mentioned home page settings. Are you referring to
WordPress Backoffice -> settings-> general for Site title and Site description or do you have an actual page called Home..

Where it says Characters=0 it doesn't count what's in the field. But when I click on it it shows a green check mark which then disapears.

Yes I see the 0. So what happens if you save the description you typed. Does it Save it and give you a count then. You are supposed to be able to have around 160 characters.

Nope, If I hover over Character, it says "click to change counter type" When I click it there is a small blue wheel that goes round and round and then a green check mark appears next to the 0 then disappears.

That's good information, but I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong to not get a word count. I wonder if the green check mark means it's OK and the word count is not used anymore?
