From 2009 to 2012 I ran a multi-author blog on bonsai and Japanese gardening. At one point it was ranked in the top ten of bonsai websites. I did deals with existing print authors to have the rights to republish there content on line with there bio. It was a strategy that worked. Unfortunately around 2012 I lost interest mainly due to work pressure and other personal stuff. The website still has this great content but is in maintenance mode until I make my mind up what to do. Amy suggestions welcome

Edit. Best way to reindex

Thanks for the feedback. I never monitized it. Perhaps I should start now

Hi Paul,

Yes, monetizing that website should be relatively easy, since it is established already.

I suggest that you go and update old dated blogs, write a couple of new ones, then figure out what affiliate programs you need to join to be able to promote the products from within your niche.

Once you are accepted into a couple of affiliate programs (which should be no problem once you get the website's momentum back up and rolling) then start writing product reviews for products (used and needs to be used within your niche) that you can make commissions off of.

You have a huge leg up on most that come to this platform to learn you already have an established website, and know how to get it ranked through SEO.

This should decrease your learning curve greatly, I look forward to hearing progress reports of your success!!

Good luck,
Calvin

It has established some strong authority. You should leverage it and restart. You can update some of the articles, reposition using keywords and also some changes in the UX.

Hi Paul,

If it was once an established authoritative website it can return to that status easier than if you were just starting out with a new niche altogether.

I would suggest to first go back through all the content and see if you can update some of it, let the search engines know that you are picking it back up and it will become active again, and (as with any website new or old) start adding content on a consistent basis.

Update all your affiliate programs with current ones and before you know it; traffic will pick back up and your sales commissions will resume flowing again.

I would also suggest that you implement anything new that you learned from the WA training to your website (after all every little bit helps).

Good luck,
Calvin
