Just To Add..

I just now added a new post to the GSC... and it was indexed within a few minutes... This is the first time this has happened in a while... maybe it has something to do with website authority or the frequency of posting new material?

Whether it ranks remains to be seen lol

On Bing & Yahoo it has hit page 1... Google says not found!

Just to update!

Good job. Usually it is the other way around. To me, Bing is harder to get indexed and ranking.

Thanks Mick... the only issue I have is that the amount of traffic from Bing/Yahoo is quite small!!

I have traffic yes.. but from Google would be more beneficial I think!

Lets see how things develop in the coming months!

For Me The Situation Is!!

When I publish anything, I automatically throw it into GSC and the Bing Console..

Indexing can take a few minutes to a day... maybe this depends on the wind direction at the time lol

When i check the services of Yahoo and Bing, most of my material hits page 1 in a few minutes... but with Google even when it is indexed, it may not start ranking for months...

Even then it comes and goes like the Dance we talk about even though the site is 2 years old and with over 300 URLS!

It is strange that Yahoo and Bing consider my content good enough for page 1, and Google some of it not at all!

That's what I'm facing as well. Bing and Yahoo easily rank me on page one. But Google likes to play it hard LOL

I guess it is something we are simply not meant to figure out!

Hi Lisa, I usually used to get an e-mail from WA stating my most has been found by Google and has been indexed. I have not seen this for over a month.
However, when I go into GSC it says my post(s) have been indexed. Just not sure if they stopped the notification process or there are other issues.
Lot of great points and links from Triblu.

Hi Michael .. WA only sends emails regarding indexing when the content was published via Site Content. If you have been publishing directly from Wordpress you will no longer get a notification from WA.

If you are still publishing from Site Content, you might want to check to be sure your notification settings haven't changed. You can check by going to your Account Settings then Notifications.

The third option, if your notification settings haven't changed AND you're still publishing via Site Content, it may be another bug they need to fix. If that is the case you may want to post it to the bug thread in case they are unaware of the issue.

Hope that helps get the problem resolved :)

Hi Shannon, what I do is hit the publish button in site content and then click on the edit in word press. This is where I add my images and my links.
Always done it that way, but I guess things have changed. I am finding it pointless writing content if it is not going to get indexed by Google.
It is really getting to me.

Best wishes,
Michael

I do it the same way. Curious have you been using the URL Inspection Tool in google search console to request indexing? I find the notifications from WA tend to be unreliable but you can always be sure if you check search console.

Hi Shannon, after I finish writing a post I do use the GSC URL submission method.
When I re-check with Google says the article has been indexed, but when I go to site content and click on the big G it is still grey and states the article has not been indexed. This has been happening with 10 of the articles since mid-December. Two did get indexed and have the filled-in color on the G in site content and I did get a message from WA confirming.
Really not sure what I am doing wrong.

Thanks, Shannon.

Best wishes,
Michael

If GSC says it is indexed then I would go with that. I wouldn't worry much about whether WA says it is indexed or not. They are getting the information 2nd hand from google so it may take a bit for it to get down the grapevine back to you.

Sometimes clicking on the G in site content will then make it light up showing as indexed but other times not. There is no rhyme or reason to it I've found. I just go by what GSC says. The G in site content is a great tool for quick glance but is not always accurate.

I have been publishing directly from Wordpress, so that is the reason I am not getting any notifications anymore from WA? Since September actually! How do I verify on google if any of my new posts have been indexed?

Yes, you will only get notifications from WA if you are publishing from Site Content. You can check indexing with the URL Inspection Tool within Google Search Console. Here is a training on using the tool: If the content then comes up as not found on google, you will be given the option to request indexing at that point.

Good luck, Shannon

I have the same issue, Lisa. I wrote a post 8 months ago and it's still not indexed. I've requested index in Google Search Console but nothing. I even changed the URL, still nothing.

I do have a sitemap, the post appears in the sitemap, but not index.

I've no idea what's wrong. All my other posts are indexed.

Thank you Warren.
I used the tool Stephen posted the link for and it says 11 out of 13 are indexed :-)

I also checked this tool he provided and it was useful. The tool confirmed that the post I'm talking about isn't indexed yet.

I'll just forget this post, and if Google wants to index it fine.

I had the same problem. I went on the google search console and found that there were issues with my sitemap. I contacted technical support, and within an hour, they build me a new sitemap that I submitted. Try that and see if it will work. After you have submitted the new sitemap, you will have to give it a couple of weeks.
