hi my question is, my meta title is saying it is to long but it doesn't allow me to change it. If i go into additions and unclick add to home page title it will then allow me to shorten it, so should i have a meta title that's to long or stay unclicked from add to home page title, much thanks Syd

Are you talking about your website meta title
wordpress back office -> settings (Not SEO) -> general ( This is where you find your site title and meta description and can edit this and save it.
Or are you referring to individual post meta title? In an individual post your site title may be added to your post title and it will be too long because the site title is not part of the post title, but that is ok. Keep your post title to 60 characters.

Hello jghwebbrand thank you for reply, I am talking about the home page settings it won't let me change the meta title unless I unclick "add meta title additions to the home page title?" can I leave this unclicked?, or should I keep it click and leave the meta title long? much thank you syddy.
