A meta description shouldn't be just the description of your article or the first paragraph of your page.

You should always take time to write this carefully since it appears in searches along with the name of your article and the name of your website.

The meta description is what people look at to decide which article is most relevant to their search.

You write 160 to compel persons to choose your article instead of the 9 others showing up on their page.

Since click-through rate help with ranking the meta is extremely important.

When you reword it is great to ensure it contains keywords or some of the main content the searcher is looking for.

For example, if your article is titled, "10 Ways to Rank on Page 1 of Google. You may want to have the first three items of your list in the description instead of the introductory part of your content. "

In this way, the person searching knows immediately that this site has exactly what he is searching for, which increases your chance of getting clicks.

So while you do your rewrite think about these things as well.

Hope this helps.

when you reword it then it also shows google that it is not an automated site ....
same with having the title of the post different from the meta title...
it shows a little bit of personalization...
