Just checking my new site in Webmaster Tools and I have 83 x 500 status code errors. It looks like every single one of my images is returning an error.

On researching, it says the 500 error code indicates that web pages have internal server error while trying to process the request.

I don't know what to do with this? Is it a simple fix, what have I done wrong? Should I be sending it to Site Support for help?

Thanks for any help
Heidi

Thanks everyone, I have sent a ticket to site support just now. I really do need to spend some time trying to learn how to fix these error messages.

I seem to be starting to get quite a few on both sites. Maybe a job for this weekend to do some research, educate myself and try to get both sites error free!

I certainly would. Whatever the cause, you don't want site errors messing up your business, Since site support is there for exactly these problems, contact them. They respond in record time.

Hey Heidi,

Google searching "fixing 500 errors" (without the quotation marks, of course), I learned the following:
"Internal server error in WordPress is often caused by plugin or theme functions. Other possible causes of internal server error in WordPress that we know of are: corrupted .htaccess file and PHP memory limit."

So, my advice to you is to contact SiteSupport to see if they can determine what the issue is and how to fix it for you.

Hope this helps you.

It might be an Internal Server Error, in which case contact support. Its not a serious error however, more a configuration one

Try reloading the page and see it it still exists, if not then contact site support for more help

Hope thats helped a bit

Heidi, sorry out of my depth on this one. Suggest site support if no-one comes up with an answer.
